Can this be used to cover a small split at the side of a nail

I wouldn’t use on its own. What I do is cut a small piece off a teabag put a layer of gel onto nail, place teabag on top of area and press into gel, then cure, wipe and smooth area by buffing surface. Wipe nail and continue to apply gel over top as normal. Look on YouTube if you are not sure it really works.

Can it be used on a natural nail as a nail hardner?

Yes but the natural nail needs a primed before.

Does this need a primer before application?

I bought as a kit answer does recommend the nail tip primer it binds the gel to your nail.

Can you paint gel colour straight on top or do you have to cleanse and buff first?

No straight on top is fine, self levels I've found aswell. Great product
