Professional vice at a reasonable price!
Well built, sturdy, strong grip and great value! I purchased a cheaper vise which had paint chip off the first time I used it. The finish on this vise is very durable. Highly recommend!

Solid Bench Vise for General Shop Work
Iโve been using this vise regularly in my workshop and it has held up very well. The construction feels solid, the swivel base is useful when repositioning workpieces, and it clamps securely without feeling flimsy or loose under load. For general shop use, firearm work, light fabrication, and random garage projects, it has been more than capable. The jaws line up well, the action has stayed smooth, and the anvil surface is handy to have when needed. It strikes a good balance between price and performance. There are obviously heavier industrial vises out there, but for most home shop users this is a very solid option that doesnโt feel cheap.

Goodโnโtight
Robust so far! Purchased this unit after researching for hours. I finally settled on this Forward brand as it had the features I wanted/needed, had good reviews, and wasnโt priced out of this world. I received my unit well packaged with zero damage. The next day I installed onto my welding table and began working with it. I was VERY impressed with how well the clamp jaws mesh together, and how little back lash there was with the unit. Very tight and smooth operation. Measurements are true to whatโs advertised. So, far I have really enjoyed having this to work with. I will also say I have not beaten on this thing yet and may never, but it certainly looks and feels like it could take some abuse. I would purchase again for sure!

Good oversized vise for medium duty stuff
Firstly... I do like this vise! It is a 6.5 inch heavy beast. It is my first real bench vise as I've always made due with and ancient "Shopmate 85", an antique Craftsmen 2" clamp-on vise, assorted jigs or C-clamps. So my perspectives may be considered limited. I will say that the depth and width was what I was looking for and the slight provision for round stuff should be good too. Closing and opening was good, but not a precision smooth, as expected for this price range bench vise. Some wiggle and side to side play was to be expected and not excessive. There is the typical spring to take up the slop of the main screw and a drilled hole for the roll pin to hold the spring in place and I would have like to have a groove and big e-clip instead. That is a definite future weak point I would guess, as the video review from "Project Farm" pointed out. May vice was not well greased and required some generous smearing all over the threads and slide areas. It may not be as heavy duty as I would hope, but for the projects I have lined up, it will be strong enough. I'm not looking to beat on it with a 20lb. sledge or wrench 1/4 inch bar stock straight. The most obvious weakness is the base and I should have realized that 270 degree swing is going to be one of those wide smile grooved base. It has a single hold down bolt to ride that 270 degree sweep. Also, the square head of the bolt does not seat broadly in the groove, but more like dainty straddle. Only the 2mm edge does the grabbing of the groove when engaged. I think I can slightly improve the hold by making a special washer and it might cut the swing to 260, but should improve the hold? I will not try to tighten down that base lock tighter than "hand-tight" as I will very likely shorten the live of the edges of the groove or limited bite of the bolt. Quick Update: The hold down bolt slips easily when I have about 40 foot pounds of side force. I tried to hand tighten, as per instructions, to as hard tight as I could and the vise dose slip. I'll have to make that special washer sooner than I thought.
