This is a great three wire hardwiring kit and is the third of three that I’ve installed. The first was the Plozoe which was a two wire power supply. If only one power and a ground are needed it’s a great product with the best value as it includes 4 sizes of fuse taps that by themselves usually cost $7 a piece. It doesn’t have an selectable battery low charge feature. The second was the Power Magic Pro: what a piece of over-priced garbage. First off, it didn’t work out of the box which many have reported. You’re forced to retain the cigarette-like plug to adapt it to the dash cam, which makes it the most antiquated and inflexible of the hardwire kits. Warranty is voided if you remove the plug for more streamlined, less bulky terminals. The fork terminal for the ground is tiny; most grounding points that you’ll find will be M6 (10mm socket) or 1/4” bolts, so you either not find a suitable connection or have to source a larger M6 terminal to replace it with. The Viofo three wire affords you a battery power wire for parking mode and an ACC wire to wake up the camera when you start the car. The circuit board allows for multiple battery low charge protection limits and has nonproprietary USB connections. Hopefully this will become the new standard for dash cam hardwire kits. You must source your own fuse taps or splice into the vehicle power supplies which most pros suggest. The Viofo A129 Pro Duo with this power supply has been the best combo for the price, ease of use and performance. The small screen makes setup and monitoring current operation convenient and takes up a very small piece of windshield real estate. The Vantrue failed mostly because it would never wake up from parking mode (a three wire system would alleviate this problem). The Black Vue is very cheaply made for the cost. It has some nice features that make it an enticing option, but it’s in need of some serious updates and material upgrades to justify cost. The camera plastic is very cheap and the front camera jiggles around in the base. It also lacks a screen interface to quickly assess mode and operation. Save your money.

Installed a A129 Plus Duo on the wife's car a couple weeks ago and used the kit. Everything went together great. At the moment she's not driving much at all, her car sits for a week or so at a time, after the install I set the kits volt meter to 12.2V and in about a week after I last drove it I came home in my car and noticed it wasn't recording and the record light wasn't even blinking. I figured the kit must have shut down the parking mode to save the battery. When I got her keys to see if that was the case, sure enough the car started just fine and once running for a few seconds the camera came to life and started recording. Once she starts driving regularly again I'm confident that the kit will make sure her battery does die on her, specially with winter upon us.

As you’d expect, this cable is exactly what you need if you want a clean installation of your Viofo dash cam while also enabling parking mode so you can capture anything shenanigans that happen while you’re away from your vehicle. In the middle of the cable is a small control box that handles the discharge protection so you don’t return to your car only to find that your dash cam drained your battery. Using the physical switch you can select from 4 different cutoff voltages. Once your battery reaches that voltage the box will cut power to the dash cam to prevent any further drain on your battery. One side of the control box has a black jacketed mini-USB cable which you’ll want to run up the A-pillar of your car, across the top windshield trim, and into wherever you’ve mounted your camera. There is a little bit of a design issue with this cable as it has a ferrite ring molded into it a few inches from the mini-USB connector. This is annoying because it’s unlikely you’ll be able to easily fit the ferrite ring under the top windshield trim like you can with the rest of the cable. In my case I was able to tuck the ring into the central dome light/rearview mirror trim panel and then simply run the cable from there along the edge of the windshield trim. It would be nice if it was just a plain cable without the ferrite ring, but I guess Viofo determined there was some interference risk and added it. The other side of the control box has the 3 cables that you’ll need to connect coming out of it. One for constant power, one for switched/accessory power, and one for ground. The ground wire already has a half ring terminal crimped onto it so you likely will be able to simply loosen a body bolt, slide the terminal under it, and retighten the bolt to establish your ground connection. In my case there was a bolt securing the fuse box to the vehicle that worked perfect for ground. For a clean installation I recommend picking up 2 add a circuit fuse taps with this item. You can then attach the add a circuit modules to the wires and plug them directly into your vehicle’s fuse box.

The wires themselves feel very quality and not cheap at all. They give you so much length that I'd be surprised if anyone managed to run out with their install. Works as it should and that's all there really is to it. Easy enough to install at home with the help of some youtube videos (even for an idiot like me when it comes to wiring/electrical work). Highly recommend for any Viofo cam owners contemplating the purchase

I decided not to use this as it has a HUGE choke on the end near the plug. So, it can't be tucked neatly under the headliner. Very poor design.

I needed this for my front and rear dash camera for my vehicle. This is the exact hardware that works with my model. Instillation was easy and straight forward following the directions. I would recommend for the models of cameras listed.

I purchased this originally in July 2021. It is now August 2022 so barely a year later, the hardwire kit decided to stop working completely. The 1st telltale sign that your hardwire kit might be going out is when your dash cam turns on/off intermittently. It started with my VIOFO A129 Duo 4K turning back on and off randomly with the boot chime while driving (would happen every hour or so). The next stage was the dash cam going on an endless reboot cycle non-stop (after it boots up, it restarts again non-stop). The last stage is when it completely cut power to the dash cam. The first thing I checked were the fuses on the add-a-circuit fuse taps (one for ACC and the other for BATT). Those were all good. Next, I plugged the dash cam into a power bank and it powered up as it should. Because the dash cam turned on with a power bank, I knew the issue wasn’t the dash cam itself but the hardwire kit. The board chip inside the hardwire kit is faulty and that’s something that needs to be looked at with VIOFO. We spend so much $$$ on a good dash cam but have cheap accessories.. it doesn’t make sense. Luckily, I did all the work myself but I feel bad for others who have to take it back to the shop and pay for labor in order to get it swapped out… only to have it happen again shortly down the road.

A must-have if you want your camera in parking mode. Works well and I like the different voltage cut-off settings. I have installed several of these on different vehicles now and I've always been satisfied.

also tut bisher was es soll, kabel sind lang genug, der knubbel (ferrid) nervt bei der installation, installation ist nicht für jeden etwas, da sollte man schon grob wissen wohin welches kabel und woher.. Der einzige Kritikpunkt für mich die per schieber einstellbaren spannungen (entladeschutz), höchster wert sind 12,4v (24,8v) das sind bei agm nur noch 60% bei regulären immerhin noch 70% ladung.. ausgelierfert wird mit 11,8v (23,6v) da wird es schwierig mit auto starten, entspricht nur noch 20%.. gut die cams brauchen im parkmodus auch nicht mehr so viel trotzdem find ich das schon grenzwärtig.. lieber wären mir die 4 stufen:12,2, 12,4, 12,6 und 12,8v.. enspricht etwa regulär 50, 70, 90 und 100%, agm 45, 60, 75 und 90% ladung..
