I bought these for my husband who is picky about his clothes. He bought some shorts not too long ago but was not satisfied with them because the material was not cotton and was really thin. He's not a jogger so I guess those were mainly for joggers.The reason I was interested in these shorts for him was because not only were they made out of cotton but they also looked as if they would be long. You might laugh but he needs long shorts because of his cats! He has some "lap cats" and one of them is always laying in his lap and constantly stretching out their claws. When they do that, they claw his skin on his thighs.My husband states these fit him well and they feel very comfortable. The shorts are not quite as long as he would like but they are longer than any he owns--and they do protect part of his legs from the cats! I only bought him one pair because I wanted to make sure he liked them before buying more. I will probably order more of these unless I find some that are a little bit longer than these shorts.

I really like these shorts, if the fit is right. I ordered ten XL shorts (same color). One of the shorts fit. The other nine were much smaller as the photo shows, although they were all marked XL. This is really a problem. Was the one that fit mismarked and is actually an XXL? Or, were the other nine mismarked and are actually L? I want them. Do I now order XXL's or place another order for 'actual' XL's? Now I feel as if I am throwing the dice!Other: I like these shorts a lot. They are very lightweight which is what I wanted. No pockets are a (non?) feature which is important to me. They are made well. I have purchased these in the past and the ones from years ago have worn well. Five stars if the fit matches the tag.

Whatever your size, go 1 size larger if the next size up is available. I ordered based on the sizing info & they fit as expected before washing & them. After running through a wash & dry cycle, all 3 pair of the shorts I bought shrank 1 size. They are still wearable, but definitely NOT the expected/desired & needed full athletic fit. The full athletic fit is needed for a hip replacement patient.If you choose to buy your size, disregard the care instructions. If you keep your water hot enough to make hot chocolate using the water straight out of the faucet, like I do, then you need to wash in cold water. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT (caps for emphasis) put them in a dryer. If you do use your dryer, remove them while they are still slightly damp and let them finish air drying. (Just An FYI: as a general rule, it's the heat of a dryer that causes the shrinkage of most - NOT ALL - but most fabrics.)That being said, the pricing is very reasonable for the extended sizes. The shorts I received appear to be well-constructed - no puckered seams; no loose threads, no loose stitches, or partial hems; no "gotches", runs in the fabric or uneven fabric texture; colors are as expected & did not bleed - I washed the shorts with some light colored t-shirts; quality elastic - wish I knew the brand so I could buy some. And the fabric still has a soft hand.

These run way small. They're at least 3" less waist size than the 1XT shorts I normally wear. I missed in the description that they don't have pockets (my fault for not reading carefully.) At best I say they're a size XL - and that's before washing.

I bought these for around the house only. I had cutoff denim shorts but the button fly wore out. I then used sweat pants and decided I needed shorts. I bought size Large but were just a little tight. I then bought size Extra Large (XL) and they fit good. Please note they have NO Pockets. My opinion is they're good for around the house and bed and NO pockets are necessary.

for people with waist 36-38 should buy 2XL if you want something normal and comfortable

I purchased the exact same product in a different color a couple of weeks prior to this purchase. I really liked them so I bought another pair. The waist measures about 1 1/2" to 2" smaller than the first pair. Champion needs better quality control. I'm returning them tomorrow. The product shipped and arrived as promised. Now I have to pay for the return shipping because they don't fit. Went to Wal-Mart and bought a couple pair in a different brand.

Worth $8, but I was disappointed the waistband has exposed elastic on the inside surface. The fabric doesn't wrap over and cover it like you'd expect from the photo. The band is nice and wide but the edges feel sharp as a razor. On the plus side, I like the 6" inseam length. Well above the knee unlike almost every other pair of "shorts" I can find. Longer than 70s basketball shorts, shorter than what the kids think you have to wear.

These are different every time I order new ones. Must be where Champion sources each batch each time. These have just enough draw string to be just a little short. Disappointed that they are not like the last 5 pair I ordered. These need about four more inches of draw string to be easy to tie. Everything else about them is the same but I guess they save a penny or two by shortening the draw string a couple inches. Maybe the next 5 pair will have a draw string that can actually be used rather than the way these are that you have to tie before washing or risk it shrinking up into the waistband.
