Fluid Mechanics (Dover Books on Physics)

I love this book!I borrowed it from a coworker and ended up ordering a copy for myself. The writing is clear and concise, but not too brief, making the book very understandable and useful for self-teaching.Also, as an undergraduate student, I'm on a tight budget after purchasing my regular college textbooks, but this one is quite reasonably priced. Probably the best $20 a mechanical engineering student can spend.(Also, if you are not familiar with tensors or more advanced vector calculus, Vectors, Tensors and the Basic Equations of Fluid Mechanics (Dover Books on Engineering) is another great book and makes a perfect companion.)

Probably my favorite fluids textbook ( I did a Master's Degree in ME with a focus on fluids which was all coursework, so you can imagine I've been through a few) This book is THICK and contains a lot of info it's a great, it's not that mathematically rigorous but there are other books for that and this one explains concepts and physics as good as any book I've ever read. I find myself using this as my 'go to' reference.

This is from way back but the fundamentals are whats important. The book brilliantly explains the foundations of fluid mechanics. Any student of engineering that have to learn fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, or even compressible flow should pick this up as a complement to your studies.

Notation is old-fashioned and structure is not always the best but there are plenty of good examples and most mathematical developments are clarifying. Further, the contents cover the expected subject widely.

It is very inexpensive book about Fluid Mechanics. As a structural engineer for industry utility, the fluid mechanics is a necessary part of mechanics knowledge.

If i were to help you choosing a book as your first book on fluid mechanics, this one would be my very first recommendation!You need to remember calculus? This book is for you. You want to grasp the concepts behing the numbers, thats your book, i used this one and also andersons book, i am telling you this book is even better, better than kundu,currie, white, anderson(which is also awesome)

This book contains everything a newcomer on Fluid Mechanics would desire. It has a good introduction on the topic, and contains a lot of illustrations and explanations which simplify this hard subject, avoiding any lack of rigor. I undoubtelly recommend it.However, an advanced student would prefer other books, such as Landau.

Se o seu curso for mais focado em hidráulica este livro não é para você, já que não apresenta capítulos dedicados a instalações hidráulicas e turbomáquinas como outros o fazemOs prós foram avaliados tendo em mente que por ser um livro mais barato ele deixaria de desejar em alguns aspectos, ams superou as expectativas que eu tive ao comprá-lo.Prós:1. O texto é conciso claro e direto, permitindo que o conteúdo trabalho seja apresentado eficientemente e sem muitos floreios.2. O livro texto apresenta uma grande quantidade de exercícios por capítulo algo em torno de 80 a 100 o que permite o estudante praticar o conteúdo de forma extensiva e intensiva.3. Grande parte das estrelas dadas foram em relação ao custo benefício que esta compra me proporcional permitindo comprar um livro mais barato sem nenhum prejuízo ou desgosto com o conteúdo.

流体力学を勉強したい人にもってこいの学習書。内容は完璧ではなく、記述や練習問題の一部にミスが多いが、全体の前向きな記述の面白さから、好意を持てる。素人の基本的な疑問を徐々に明らかにしてくれるような構成となっており、読んでいて最後まで飽きない。また練習問題の豊富さも魅力であり、やさしい問題をたくさん解くことによって内容の理解を補助し、誤解していた箇所を自己訂正できる。ナビエ・ストークスの方程式を中心としたベクトル解析の基本的手法が前半で説明され、残りの部分はそれら解析手法を実際の流体の解析に応用する形となっている。前半の1/3をこなせれば、後は楽しみながら読み進められる。ただし、ベクトル解析に慣れていない人は、他の数学の入門書を勉強しておく必要があるかもしれない。

Kindle edition:This is a great textbook for understanding the fundamentals of fluid mechanics. However, it is very bulky and so the Kindle version is tempting. BUT, the Kindle edition is unreadable because equations and diagrams have been imported as image files, which are tiny on an e-reader screen.Yes, some images can be enlarged by tapping, but:1) This is time consuming and breaks the flow of the text2) Some images are so small (equations) that you can't tap enough area to bring up a magnifying region.
