Must be a roid induced post gym effect causing them to slam them in the parking lot because truly, these are as sturdy as any old blender bottle plastic. I like the size of them as they are not obnoxiously large. As for mixing capabilities, I understand it's not advised to use the ball and grid together but I do it anyway. I am able to mix liquid, protein powder, pumpkin puree, and flax seed as smooth as magic bullet would when I use both ball and grid. These are also easy to clean.
