Grounded in design DNA from the Scuderia XX family and inspired by high-performance sport, the imposing new XX Kers reveals Scuderia Ferrari’s signature race-car influence in its bold, strong aesthetic elements. KERS stands for Kinetic Energy Recovery System, the cutting-edge technology developed by Ferrari to recover energy wasted in braking. Crafted in stainless steel with a bright/brushed or black ion-plated finish, the round 50mm XX Kers case, styled with extended sport lugs and crown protector, is truly commanding in size. Its fixed coin-edge bezel, in red or black anodized aluminum, sports bold, contrasting markers and Arabic numerals in the font found on the nose of a fabled Ferrari single-seater. Protected by flat mineral crystals, the black carbon fiber-textured dials are detailed by highly legible contrast-colored or silver-toned numerals/markers and bold skeleton hands. Their reflector rings sport minute tracks with a contrast-color “red zone” between 12 and 3 o’clock. The signature counterbalance on the center-mounted seconds hand is shaped like a Scudetto. On the multi-function models, the day/date/24-hour subdials resemble Revolution dashboard gauges. The air intake-inspired silicone straps in black or red are debossed with the name Scuderia Ferrari. Contoured to hug the wrist for comfort, they feature a raised center section inspired by the distinctive hood of the Ferrari Testarossa. Like the stainless steel or black ion-plated link bracelets, these straps are free-falling, rather than integrated, for better fit and function with the impressively oversized case, and branded with subtle logo detail. Joining the line-up for Fall/Winter 2016 is a striking new multi-function model featuring a gold ion-plated steel case with black aluminum bezel, black/gold-toned dial and black leather strap with distinctive red top-stitching. Water resistant to 50 meters/5 ATM. 2-year limited international warranty.
