Its the pits. *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2012* This MIU France Polished stainless steel Cherry Stoner is the cat's pajamas. No seriously, I have a cat, Brusier, who likes to sleep in my pajamas, also likes cherry pits. No one in my family likes cherries. Only Brusier, and he only likes the pits. My crazy wife will take a whole pound of cherries and make Bruiser a cherry pit pie, and she blends the meat of the cherries into a cherry soup. And we all like that. So I guess we all like cherries, in soup. So when the MIU France cherry stoner came into our lives it has been a big help in this endeavor. Helpful Hint : To keep your hands from looking like a serial killers, do not remove the pitted cherries from the MIU France Cherry Stoner with your fingers. Use ice tongs instead and always wear eye protection and an apron. And put down newspaper and keep a mop and bucket of warm soapy water handy. Gosh, how we love that cat. This is my first cherry pitter, so I can't compare products, but it worked well enough. My hands were purple by the time I was done, but I was able to get the pits out relatively easily and it saved TONS of time compared to having to pit them by hand. I did use both hands when pushing the pits out (made it go faster) and I had to be a little careful or I was likely to give myself a blood-blister from pinching my fingers in between the metal. This devise came to the rescue, now I have them all pitted and ready to eat without the hastle. What can I say this devise works well, it pits cherry's. Cherries are a seasonal thing, and I saw no reason to spend more money for something that is not used that often and takes up a lot of room in my drawer. Besides this one works just fine. This devise is all stainless steel and easy to clean.I guess this would pit olives also.
