Perfect Violin Stand!
What does one do when the pandemic drags on and one is about to go stir crazy?Learn a new instrument!I purchased a violin (see separate review) but soon discovered that packing it away after each use led to less practice. Out of sight, out of mind, one might say.I saw this affordable stand, and thought I'd give it a try. I am very pleased! This stand adjusts to accommodate different sizes (important for young students who may move on to a larger instrument). I use it for a standard sized violin and it fits perfectly. The wide stance and low center of gravity provide a safe and stable way of keeping my violin at the ready. There is also a convenient bow holder built in. I was further pleasantly surprised to discover that this stand accommodates an attached shoulder rest, eliminating the need to remove it every time practice is finished. See my photos with front, side and back views. The arms are well padded to prevent scratches to your instrument's finish. Two thumbs up! A great value, and a quality product.

Great for full sized violins
Very nice. However, it doesn’t fit smaller violins. Great for full sized violins.

Duh! Where has this been all my life?!
I feel so dumb! I've been playing the violin since 5th grade (and that was quite a few decades ago!) and until a couple of months ago, I had NO IDEA a violin stand was a "thing"! All these years when I've balanced my bow across the stand? Held the violin on my lap? Set my violin carefully on my chair? NO MORE! I was at church and saw a violinist pick up her violin from a stand on the floor. I was shocked! What IS that?!? Well, when I asked her about it, it turned out it was a jerry-rigged guitar holder that barely worked for her, but that got me to thinking . . . so I looked here and found out there are a lot of choices for violin stands. After reading the reviews, I settled on this one. I like that it is metal (sturdy--even on carpeted flooring) and has padding that cradles the violin. The bow holder is great! No more trying to balance it on the stand and walk around it. So far, I am storing it in my case under the zippered top flap. It doesn't quite zip closed now, but it seems to be held securely in place. Wish I had had this YEARS ago!! Can't wait to break it out for the Cantata practice this year!

Not as sturdy as I thought

Not with a shoulder rest
This stand is perfect if you do not use a shoulder rest. It is sturdy, folds up nicely, and I love the bow-holder. However, if you do keep a shoulder rest on your violin, it's too narrow!! You can rest the violin in crooked, but then it tends to fall over! Hence the 3 star rating. If there was an adjustment for instrument width , I would've given it 5+.

Great little stand BUT....
Great little stand my office and at home. I don't have kids or pets so I don't have to worry about it getting knocked over. It's got a good wide stance on it and wouldn't fall over easily (tested it on a crappy Bestler violin to make sure) all and all it does the job. However I'm not too keen on the bow holding part as the bow leans and puts lateral pressure on the end screw (I wouldn't suggest using it to hold your Georg Werner or JonPaul Vetta bows that's for sure).

Practical good stand
I put my violin sideways to keep the attachment. Good build and portability.Time will tell on durability.Love it so far...!
