If you are looking for stakes suitable for heavy duty tasks - don't buy these. However, if you are looking for a decent set of stakes to guide and provide some support for shrubs or other light tasks, these should be absolutely fine.As other reviewers have noted, these canes comprise a thin hollow metal tube that is coated in robust plastic. They have protective, slightly pointed, firm plastic ends. The hollow metal tube should not have come as a surprise to any buyers, given that the Seller includes a cross-section photo of one of these stakes showing exactly that.

As described, they are sturdy plant support stakes. Plastic coated metal, the plastic coating has small raised protrusions along the whole length to help prevent attached ties from slipping down. Definitely for use in soft soil, they are NOT designed to be hammered into position (gentle tap at most). Eminently suitable for the role they are designed to fulfill and in my opinion superior to bamboo canes.

These stakes are very handy, versatile and pretty good value. It is not immediately obvious from the description, or from the photos, that they are metal tubes, with a very strong plastic coating. I'd say the coating would last for years in the open air.One of their great characteristics is that their knobbly surface makes it very easy to attach things to them by twisting wire, or by tying string very tightly. It will not slip down the pole.The only limitation was that one has to be careful not to load the poles laterally and very heavily at one point. For example, we used them to secure wind-break netting as a surround for quite a large raised bed. But if the wind was strong in a direction that caused the poles to press hard against the surrounding timber of the raised bed, the poles might bend badly at the top of the timber. But in other applications — e.g. as supports for large expanses of anti-bird netting, as supports for garden string holding up broad beans, or holding up wind-break netting in a where the poles don't have to press against the surrounding timber — in all kinds of ways they are excellent.

Great supports for plants light and strong 100% better than canes not expensive when you consider how long they will probably last no splinters and easy for ties thanks to textured shafts highly recommended

I used to have bamboo stakes but they kept breaking. I needed stronger support and found this Tingyuan 25 Pack Garden Stakes 11mm x 120cm. The length was just right for the intended use, and they were on offer at the time which was fortunate.Tjese stakes are made of steel covered by plastic so they're very strong and sturdy. Very happy with the product.

I ordered 25 6-foot stakes in 50 3-foot segments that are attached to make the 25 6-foot stakes. They sent me 25 of the bottom 3-foot segments - useless for my needs. I registered a complaint and gave one star; however, after explaining the problem within about 2 weeks, they sent me another order of 50- 3-foot segments, 25 bottoms and 25 tops so iI have my 25 6-foot stakes and I am delighted and now give them 5 stars. Small problem - i still have 25 3-foot bottoms that i cannot use. Does the manufacturer or distributor want these returned?

I try to buy in quantity, specially if I know I'll need more down the road! These usually don't last long around my house. I use them for multiple thing!I bought the 5' because at least 6" goes into the ground and I'd rather have something too tall than short! I bought these to make my tomato cages more stable. I always try to stake my cages with zip ties. In the past cages alone fall over especially with indeterminate type tomatoes that keep growing. Taking a little extra time and spending a few extra dollars keeps you from having major headaches later and damaging your plants trying to set them back up.These stakes are plastic coated and durable. I use a hard plastic mallet to get them into the ground. It's not heavy like a rubber mallet. Putting 50+ stakes in the ground can make anyone tired and sore, so I use the light weight hard plastic mallet. It also protects the stakes as well as you drive them into the ground.I also use these for a little roost for younger chickens when they are growing up in a little 4x6 tractor.
