My dad said the pain was reduced a lot, as he could feel his hip being supported when he was walking.Everyone noticed when he was walking he was not limping as much either.I would highly recommend this product especially for support on the hip.The only downside is that you cannot sit down after so long. The waistband rolls over and it pinches the inside of the thigh (very painful) and the back cuts into the bum!!! The seam on the inside of the thigh is very uncomfortable too. But to help with the pain, it is bearable.
