KNIPEXExternal Precision Snap Ring Pliers

There is that tiny, and quite frustrating, little clip that hold you're clutch lever on. This is the tool to remove it, easily. Are there other ways? Yes. Is this the simplest? Indeed. And, come on, it's an excuse to buy a new tool!

These are the best pliers to install and remove 3mm (1/8") snap rings on tiny shafts as found in Gun, Paintball, and Airgun applications. These are also a necessity for high end R/C cars etc. The pliers are small enough that they don't interfere with the shaft when putting on snap rings in tight places. These are excellent quality drop forged tools and are the only ones that are made in a First World country (in this case Germany), instead of by Child labor in places like China and VietNam. If you do small rings, these are indispensable.

After having messed around with the cheap interchangeable snap ring pliers you see for sale at autozone, I've been blown away by how much nicer these knipex are.

Typical Knipex quality that I appreciate. I needed a small snap ring tool to reach inside a drill press quill. These were perfect and the job was complete minutes after receiving.

Knipex quality, good design. Best snap ring pliers I’ve used, though each pair has limited application so be sure you are ordering the right set. They are NOT reversible or replaceable tip, but I’ll be darned if I could break the tips on them.

Another win for Knipex. My collection is growing and I've never been disappointed. Not much to say other than they always work superior to anything similar. These are designed for pretty small clips! 10mm is less than half an inch so get the appropriate size. Works well for clip without holes (see pics).Regarding the one bad review here (not gripping well, slipping off) - I'd pretty much guarantee he's using the wrong size tool. These absolutely EXCEL at gripping the clip and not slipping off - at least when used correctly :)

Spending $50 on these pliers likely saved me hours when repairing our ancient dryer. I only needed to remove and later replace one snap ring, but after carefully reading all the reviews of other snap ring pliers here on Amazon it was clear that this was the only one that was sure to do the job. Also, unlike cheaper pliers, I could get detailed specs on the pliers from the KNIPEX web sight, so I know these pliers would fit and solidly hold and release the snap ring. I have been burned too often buying cheap tools since "I might only need to use it once", and then discovering the cheaper tool did not fit, or was finicky, or broke, or caused the part I was working on to fly off into an inaccessible corner. This did the job perfectly.

Struggled in the past with interchangable snap ring pliers, finally had enough and bought Knipex set but one at the time as needed. What a difference!
