Thanks.** A: I'm not certain which model I have, but it is certainly deeper than 2-2/3 inches. If there are only two models, then I have the 4-3/4-inch model. I installed a double GFCI safety receptacle in a weatherproof box, with the pivoting, liftable cover over the receptacle.I use the lower socket as a semi-permanent power source for an electric water fountain, keeping the cover closed in case of rain, with the power line exiting from an opening at the bottom of the cover. The upper socket is utilized with the cover lifted for temporary use of power tools.Since I use heavy electric extensions, the plugs and lines take up a lot of room, and I needed the 4-3/4-inch cover to readily accommodate them. If you will be using a single 18-gauge extension, the 2-2/3-inch model should suffice. But if you plan to use heavy extension lines, I would definitely recommend the 4-3/4-inch model.I would also recommend waterproof caulking around or between section joints. **Q: Does this have pin hinges or snap in's? I need this for secuirty, read it locks but can someone pop it open at the hinges?** A: This has two sets of plastic pins set into plastic holes, switchable so you can mount it in two orientations. A clever person could open it w/o breaking anything, but most intruders would leave evidence. Can it be easily broken? Yep. This is a "polite company" security fixture. **Q: Can the cover be mounted on vinyl siding?** A: I suppose you could.
