Does this unit make the shower water itself feel like softened water (like from a Culligan whole home unit)?

R.E. Dillon, you mention a catalytic carbon (K2) filter for this system?! Can you please provide more detail to where you found this specific filter for this system? Please. Our water is absolutely disgusting. I've gone through so many different filtration systems for our showers it's sickening. I can unscrew the little screen from our bathtub faucet after about 1-2 months from cleaning it and chunks of metals? Or I don't even know will call out rock hardand be built up all on the tiny screens. It effects our skin terribly, our hair turns into strands that are as stretchy as a rubber band, and the film build up on our hair causes a salon professional to refuse to highlight, color, low light our hair because the fear of the chemical reaction the dye could have when it comes in contact with the build up from our water that could lead to it burning/breaking right off. So they deny a over $300 service due to whatever the heck my town water company is putting out to it's customers.... I've never had a problem like this. I've tried the highest numbered filters for mutliple minerals and chlorine ECT .... And never fails that within 2-3 months they are filled with what looks like mold, and rust particles and clogged so badly water pressure drops significantly. So, I once again decided to try a new filter system and went with this one. Less then 1 week the filter is disgusting brown with small spots of greenish mold and the smell is like dank old still water causing your skin to smell like that and any towels used and our hair even after being dried. I need help please!!!! My 14 year old daughter was born with RSV and still to this day has specific symptoms that flair up during certain times of the year. I feel the water here has definitely heightened these flair ups. Respiratory, skin irritation, break outs on her face, can't wash her hair more then 2 times a week or her hair becomes so oily and greasy. Any advice, ideas, direction, do's or do nots, products, ANYTHING I'm needing willing wanting to hear please. I'm sick of just being told "well change the filter" or "change the filter every month instead of 3 or 6 months" or "send in a water test kit from your water company for them to know and do something about it"..... Yea ok!! Because they are jumping all over an entire peninsulas water system replacement over my 1 sample. Or I've never gotten the results and they seem to have never gotten the sample so help please?!
