Nektar NX-P very good budget expression pedal
I wanted to make my own expression pedal with a toe switch, to use with my Fender Tone Master Pro modeller. The official pedal was £160, which was rather steep. I'd seen a YT video of someone modding this pedal with a toe switch, so I though I'd have a go myself. It was actually very easy and works well. Having to take the pedal apart to modify it, I could see it was built to a decent standard and was pretty robust. I've seen better pedals but they have cost a lot more than this. It's plastic, so not as robust as a metal-bodied pedal, but if you do plan to jump up and down hard on an expression pedal, then that's the sort of thing you should be looking for in the first place. It does have a metal base-plate, which adds some weight and helps keep it in position on the floor. The treadle works smoothly and sends a full-range travel signal to the Tone Master Pro, so no problems there. The minimum output control also worked well. I can't comment on its longevity, but it won't be a hard job to fit a new pot if necessary. Overall I'm very impressed for the money.

Bargain and surprisingly good
Purchased to use as an expression pedal with my GigRig G3S. Works surprisingly well. Only downside is the fixed length cable but this is easily mofified. A Jack on the pedal would be better.

Exceptional value.
Complete with attached TRS cable. Used as expression pedal with Fractal AM4. Works perfectly. Excellent value.

Fantastic for the price!
I wasn't expecting to much from an exp pedal at this price point but its actually fantastic! It's very sturdy and solid feeling despite being made of plastic (which makes it very lightweight) The tracking works really well and is smooth across the range, when used to control delay time for example it ramps up smoothly and evenly without jumping or missing points in the range, meaning it will go evenly from 0 - 100 without quickly jumping up or down that range, which is great as there are far more expensive pedals that aren't capable of this! I'd definitely recommend this pedal and already have to other musician friends, I use 2 exp pedals for my board currently and I'll likely replace my other more expensive one with another one of these!

Good value, works great with Line 6 M9
The down side: it's plastic with a metal base. Still, plastic Behringer pedals seem to survive quite well. The actuator linkage is also plastic with a smear of silicone grease; that is probably not going to last for ever but it will probably outlast the pot so not to worry. The up side: price. The M-Audio one is cheaper, yes, so this is a compromise. I just acquired a second-hand Line 6 M9 pedal and wanted a cheap expression pedal to evaluate the M9's potential as a gigging pedal. Using switch position 2 and the "sensitivity" control at full (which means it is at zero effect, not interfering) I can control the selected parameter(s) on the M9. Setting up the M9 is another topic - if you are using auto save you must switch off all effects before unplugging the expression pedal or you lose what you just set up; best to use manual save. If you're not worried about warranty, or if the lead eventually breaks and you are able to DIY it would not be difficult to replace the fixed lead, or there's plenty of space to install a stereo (TRS) jack socket to use with a suitable lead. Edit: I notice that when using this with the Line 6 M5/M9 pedals, you cannot set 100% value for any parameter. Like some other expression pedals there is a small 1k resistor in series with the potentiometer, so to get 100% you would have to modify the pedal to bypass the resistor. In practice I haven't found it a problem.

Nektar expression pedal
Works smoothly, and terrific value for the money. The lightweight plastic construction may put some people off. The cable comes attached to the pedal, so you can't plug in your own.

Works Well
Works as hoped with the Kemper profiler.

Doesn’t work for me!
It doesn’t work as an expression pedal on my Technics keyboard. What it does is act as a balance control between left and right channels - not much good and not fit for purpose. One star because its nicely made!
