This study Bible is the best I've ever used. I bought this as a gift. But I use one as well. The comments and explanations make studying a lot easier. Always use a King James Version Bible, only true one. The price, size and color are great. I had his name printed on it. Easily done. And the print is a good size for reading. Love the fact that all Scofield Bibles have the same page number no matter the size of the Bible. For just Saved people its hard to know the books and where they are, after all they are beginners, the Pastor can say turn to page 803 and everyone is on the same page. Very, very good Bible. Would highly recommend whether you are a new or older Christian.

Got what I paid for Good bible

I like this Bible. Mine is free of the manufacturing defects enumerated in some other reviews. The print is uniform and the red letters pop out but are not overly bright. Some of the notes and subheadings are very clearly pushing a certain theology, one that does not necessarily reflect the most widely held orthodox Christian beliefs today, but still are interesting ways of thinking about the biblical text. I’m interested in these annotations as a historical document as much as anything else. They’re 104 years old. Other features to recommend this Bible are that is has a concordance which seems to be pretty thorough, and also a dictionary of proper names. There’s also a subject index. The maps look pretty old, which is another cool feature. I just like old stuff. The center column references help me to make connections I hadn’t made before. The book intros are reflective of the kind of scholarship that was available at the time, which was not as advanced as what we have today, but they still help me learn something. Whether you agree with dispensationalism in principle or not, I think this Bible is a good addition to any collection. Also I do think the KJV, while it has certain faults, is a very beautiful translation, and keeps me enamored with the biblical text, wanting to read more. As far as the book itself, the cover is kind of a coffee-colored bonded leather, the pages have gilt edges and there’s a ribbon marker. It is regular sized/personal size. Not sure what size the font is and I have no way to measure it but it’s not particularly huge. It seems similar to what you would find in a standard newspaper.

First a little background. My grandfather was a preacher of the gospel that saw many miracles in his ministry. He was not a scholar, but he studied the Bible and preached revivals all over the world. Only God knows how many souls were won and lives were changed in those revivals. His favorite study Bible was the Scofield. It was the Bible that was purchased for every high school and college graduate that attended the home church. Upon graduation, I was given a Scofield Study Bible. It was one of the Bible’s that I used when I began preaching. It was used so much that it fell apart and is no longer usable. Then when my grandfather died, he left me an original Scofield edition in premium bonded leather, gold lined and sewn binding. He had read this Bible completely through when he was forced to lie in bed for many months after a surgery. This Bible contains one torn page because one night I was praying with my face down in the pages and my tears soaked the page. That was the night that God put it in my heart to move across the country for the purpose of ministry. Needless to say, the Scofield Bible is special to me. Both of my Scofields are well worn, so when I saw Amazon was selling them for 19 dollars, I knew I needed one. Quality: The edition I purchased was black bonded leather. It is stiff as expected and does feel cheap, but it does look nice. The product description says sewn binding, but it is actually glued so it probably won’t last 10 years. The gilding is decent and seems to sparkle. It is paste down liner and it is not edge lined. It will not open flat in Genesis. The ghosting is quite bad in sections and the pages are not very thick. The red lettering is too bright and some of the print is faded. Okay now that I’ve got the bad out of the way, let’s talk about the good. This is an absolute steal at 20 or 30 bucks. You get Scofields notes and reference system, a great concordance and index in the back and a handful of bible maps. No, this is not one of your modern study Bibles with flash and color, but what Scofield is missing in bells and whistles, it makes up for in charm. I love the size of this Bible. It is one one of the smallest and thinnest study Bibles that I know of, but it is extremely readable. The study system was revolutionary at the time. There’s just something special about this Bible. If you grew up with Scofield and desire another copy, you can’t go wrong for 20-30 bucks! I for one enjoy the memories that flood my mind when I pick up my new Scofield so I wholeheartedly endorse this Study Bible.

Scofield just set the standard. The comments, side correlations to other scripture, it was done by someone made living by him. There is no higher standard or recommendation than that and to seek him in his word and have a Bible like this for that reason. If this is also you, you will not be disappointed--at all in this work. Dies ist ein Klassiker unter den Studienbibeln. Ich will nicht verschweigen, daß Scofield umstritten ist. Er war geschieden, führte ein kriminelles Lotterleben, und manche bezweifeln, daß er je Christ war, sondern nur ein genialer Geschäftsmann. Seine Studienbibel wird aber noch immer von vielen gern genutzt. Besonders die Einteilung der Bibel in heilsgeschichtliche Abschnitte (dispensations), was die einzig sinnvolle Bibelstudienmethode ist (in moderner Zeit popularisiert von J.N. Darby), macht sie wertvoll. Natürlich ist Scofield nur ein Mensch. Schon auf der ersten Seite in Genesis steht ein Fehler: Scofield mutmaßt, daß Gott die Sonne schuf, als er sagte, Es werde Licht! "Sie war aber hinter einem Nebel verborgen." Eine klare Fehlinterpretation, denn die Sonne wurde nicht am ersten sondern am vierten Tag erschaffen. Wer also eine Scofield-Bibel braucht, ist mit dieser gut bedient. Der King-James-Text ist getreu den Urtexten, es fehlt weder Komma noch Strichlein. Die deutschen Scofields benutzen leider die katholisch umgeschriebenen Luther-Revisionen oder Elberfelder-Fehlbibeln, beide seit 100 Jahren basierend auf katholischen (und nicht reformatorischen bzw. urchristlichen) Grundtexten, das heißt: es fehlen hunderte Bibelverse und tausende Wörter. Schlimmer noch: Die hier rezensierte Scofield 1917 basiert auf Scofields eigener letzter Revision vor seinem Tod. ABER die deutsche "Scofield 1967"-Ausgabe basiert auf den verfälschten Fußnoten irgendwelcher Textverderber und ist gar keine echte Scofield mehr. Zum Buch: Gedruckt in Korea in wunderbarer Papier- und Bindequalität. Es gibt kein nennenswertes Problem mit durchscheinendem Text. Der Umschlag ist leider nur "Bonded Leather" (Kunstleder), aber dennoch flexibel und widerstandsfähig genug, um viele Jahre Schutz zu bieten. Klare Empfehlung für das Werk! Und der Preis ist unschlagbar.

Formato bellissimo, impaginazione e caratteri molto retrò. Versione un po' ostica per la traduzione con termini englesi antichi. In compenso una vera Bibbia su cui studiare.
