A Brilliant Mini-tripod
I purchased this tripod for my Canon series digital camera and it is the perfect accessory for eliminating camera shake. It is easy to use and is the perfect partner for close up work.

Issue with thread on centre column!
The tripod arrived to day, on initial inspection I was impressed by the build quality. On closer inspection I noticed an issue with the centre column. The thread does not binned. This will be a result of either poor machining or over tightening. This issue was raised by another reviewer in 2020! I will be contacting Amazon with a view to obtaining a replacement part or alternatively exchanging the entire tripod.

A Cracking little Tripod.
The mini tripod arrived a day before it was due. For a small tripod the AFAITH is absolutely solid and sturdy and holds my camera with no problems. Would recommended it to anyone.

Such a shame.
Unfortunately I've had to modify my earlier very positive review. For the first time today I raised the head to its full height and the spindle fell in two, I just managed to save my camera hitting the floor. This is due to extremely poor machining of the threads where the centre spindle joins together. They could be pushed in and out without even twisting, they were so loose. I've glued the two halves of the spindle together to prevent this happening again but it can no longer be removed, meaning the inverted configuration is not now possible. I'll attempt to contact Amazon to see if the manufacturer will send a spare spindle and will update this report as necessary. It's such a shame that this great little tripod has been let down by poor machining and lack of Quality Control, whoever assembled this during manufacture could not have failed to notice the problem. As with all photography accessories though, cheap as this tripod is, if I'd have not caught my camera that would have been over £1000 worth gone West.........Sorry but I can't recommend this now in the light of the current failure, anyone with this type of tripod I suggest you check these threads before mounting your expensive gear on it.

A Great Buy
The tripod is a lot bigger than it looks, but still small enough to fit inside a moderately spacious camera bag. Build quality is superb. This tripod can take quite a beating without more than cosmetic damage and it easily supports my Sony A77 (a reasonably heavy SLR) with a 16-300mm lens without drooping. I've found that was very hard to achieve with cheaper pocket tripods. The tripod is still not as big as a full tripod, but it reaches an impressive height nonetheless, easily reaching waist level. The ball head allows you to place the camera in any position while still being able to tighten enough that the camera doesn't wobble. The top screws off as well to make storage easier. About the only complaint I have is that the level gauge is completely useless on the end of the handle. Even if you were to place the camera sideways on the mount it wouldn't be of much use since the bubble needs to face directly upwards in order to work. That's a minor quibble though as I have an electronic level anyway. If you're looking for a solid yet portable tripod that will work with your heavy SLR then this is the one to go with. It's not as good as a full tripod obviously, but it's more than merely adequate and is far more portable and useful than a regular tripod anyway.

Rock solid!
Bought this to use on a shelf at the local bird hide as conventional tripods are just too tall. It is beautifully made and solid as a rock supporting my Nikon D600 with 300mm F4 and teleconverter - not a light combination. It takes the weight easily and the ball head allows quick movement in any direction.I also used it lying on the ground for an animal's-eye view on a recent shoot at the British Wildlife Centre. It drew envious looks from the other photographers who had to rely on their elbows for support. As a bonus I found that with the legs closed together and the ball head in the right orientation I could brace the feet against my chest forming a support for the camera when hand holding it.Come the winter months I look forward to using it on the tabletop for macro work.A really good buy!

... never owned a small tripod before this one is easy to use fairly sturdy and smacks of good build ...
From an amateur photographer who has never owned a small tripod before this one is easy to use fairly sturdy and smacks of good build quality, feels heavy for it's size which is nice and compact though i'm sure you could get smaller, 10 inches long give or take when in the bag. My GoPro loves it and my DSLR with a hefty 18-200 lens can also sit aloft quite happily although be careful when the legs are fully retracted it has had a couple of wobbly moments and you need the lens over a leg to provide stability. With a light, or smaller sense, has no problem, and when the legs are extended providing more stability its all good, i'm sure the Hubble Space Telescope would perch happily on top. would recomend.
