Wow! this is a great Dust Collector
I ordered this for my son for Christmas to add to his workshop to help manage dust being created from his planer, jointer and table-saw. He had been using a shopvac but that was not very efficient to manage the amount of dust his planer was making. We put the unit together the other day and I would highly recommend two people doing it as there are a couple of steps in the assembly process that would be very challenging to do by yourself. Overall it goes together very easily, took us about 1 hour and the instructions were very clear. Once we had it together we plug it in and turned it on and wow what a difference compared to the shop vac. Very good suction and the unit is actually much quieter than I expected, more of a humming type sound vs. the high pitch sound of the shop vac. The two inlets are nice as well. This unit is very heavy duty, the filter works great and the storage bags (4 included) are very thick so I think you will be able to reuse them if you wanted to. Jet really makes a great product here. So if your an avid woodworking looking for a reasonably priced dust collection system I highly recommend this one.If you found this review helpful please let me know by pressing the helpful button below. I do my best to write honest and helpful reviews of products I actually purchase and use. Your feedback helps me to understand how good of a job I am doing. Thanks.

High quality and low volume!
I had the unit delivered by a delivery firm and scheduled it through Amazon. The unit arrived on schedule in perfect condition in two boxes heavily wrapped in heavy duty shrink wrap. Some of the parts are tucked inside other parts or are under the large styrofoam blocks, so be sure to get those all out. Installation went very smoothly, with good instructions, all parts included and everything fitting together very well. It's actually a really straightforward assembly. The parts all feel solid and of high quality. I also purchased the Jet remote control (shop around as prices varied a LOT) and I set that up with the unit. The unit runs at about 75 decibels at about 3 feet (I have an SPL meter). I'd say it is similar to the volume of my large Ridgid shop vac, but it has a lower, broader sound. It is definitely quieter than my contractor table saw which runs at about 85db. I was really concerned about the volume of the collector before buying, but it is not an issue at all. I have a 4 inch expandable hose from Rockler on the unit connecting to my table saw, and it does a great job. Definitely moves a lot more air than the shop vac did. The cyclonic action really seems to swirl the dust around in the bag. I don't have a planer or anything making big chips, so I don't have need of a separator yet, but unless I get a tool like that I think this will work very well for me as is. I did a lot of comparison shopping before buying this collector, with a spreadsheet and everything! This was not the winner due to its price. However, as I considered the cost of adding a cyclonic component afterwards to other units, the complaints on cheaper units and how badly the parts lined up or were missing parts, etc. I decided price was not the most important factor with this purchase. I have had some regrets in the past after choosing the lowest price option and am finding I am more satisfied when I invest the extra money in something of better quality. With this purchase, I felt the extra investment was well worth it from the moment I started pulling parts out and seeing how solid they were. I think it's really an attractive tool as well, and like having it tucked in the corner of my shop! I think it will last a very long time.

Better than a shop vac for sure.
Your still going to need a good dust mask if you have this unit in the shop with you. It does a good job with my table saw, router, drum sander and joiner. The planer was a bit much for it. Lighter passes cured that problem. It doesn't do such a good job filtering air back into the shop. You can smell the dust of whatever wood you are working with and wake up the next morning with a sore throat from breathing the fine dust in that escapes the filter. I did buy a metal garbage can and install the super dust deputy on top of it. This will keep large pieces from getting into the impeller. It also separates a good portion of the sawdust ( 80%) There is some sawdust in the bag, but way more in the garbage can. The really fine stuff still makes its way back into the shop. I'm trying to find a .5 micron or hepa filter bag to fit over the top of the jet filter canister. I could just vent it outside, but I have plans to install A/C and don't want to suck the cool air out of the building. That fine dust is the most dangerous. Good cheap dust collector? Yes. with a quality mask or vented outside.

Good value for your money
Nice and quiet and collects the dust from my router and planners with ease. Rolls around my shop and makes me happy.

This thing sucks, but in a good way
I have had this since yesterday when I wrote this review. That being said it arrived with damaged boxes which I saw in other reviews, but the parts themselves were just fine. As far as putting it together goes, I did it by myself. All in all it took about 30 minutes after unpacking everything. I read in other reviews about paint in the threaded holes on the base. I had that issue as well. I was able to start the threads by hand easily and just ran them in the rest of the way with a cordless impact gun. As far as the directions go for assembly, I wouldn't know. I didn't open up the manual. It's pretty self explanatory where things go if you lay out the parts that are similar. I put the wheels on the base and kept the extra nuts and lock washers for my bolt bin. Next I mounted the blower/motor assembly with 4 bolts and washers. Then I loosely mounted the 3 legs for the filter and bag assembly loosely so I could reposition them if necessary. Then mounted the base for the filter on the legs with 2 bolts per leg and a washer on the inside and outside. Looking back I would have mounted the filter assembly to the legs first so as not to have to balance things around while putting bolts in. The whole thing weighs maybe 15-20 pounds and stands about 3 feet tall so order of assembly is more of your presence than anything. I tightened all the bolts up that were installed thus far(which are all the same size which made it nice) and proceeded to bolt up the flat black bar to the top side of the inner filter assembly. Then bolted up the cone wider side down. Next came the bar for the flaps to clean the upper filter. I put a nut on the bolt coming out from the top followed by a washer, then the handle( pointing down) then washer and nut. I used 2 3/4" wrenches and tightened the nuts together. I then set the filter up on the top of the unit and put in the 4 thumbscrews to keep it there. Lastly, I took the ring for the plastic bags which is the white fabric covered ring and fed a bag through the center and flapped the excess to the outside. Finally, I put on the hose to connect the motor and filter assemblies. I sprayed a little bit of glass cleaner on the fittings so they would slide on easily and tightened it up then tried it out and it works great. The only thing I will be doing is adding a dust deputy to the vacuum line before it reaches the impeller to catch bigger things that will clog up the fingers on the intake that are there to keep big things out. The y assembly pops on and off without any tools so clean out isn't difficult but I don't want to have to mess with it. I took a picture of the fingers so you can see what I'm talking about. If chips can't pass it will significantly decrease your suction.

Great dust collector
Great value and a life saver. With extra hose and accessories am able to fit it to multiple machines at once. Lots of vacuum!

Better maintenance
I purchased June 2023, used it daily and found out the motor and switch box were filled with sawdust and it shorted out and burned the motor up.
