I needed to cut the head off of a small stripped hex bolt after an extractor set failed. I was able to accomplish the task, but not without damaging the mandrel. The center hole in the cutting disks is too large, so it's hard to align them to spin at a high RPM without heavy vibration. When I turned on my rotary tool, at a low RPM, the disk was slightly off center and bent the mandril instantly.Fortunately, I was able to cut mandril off at the bend and try a second time. I took great care in centering the disk and was able to spin it up without excessive vibration. I will probably throw out the rest of the disks and find a better cutting solution in the future.

I liked and bought this product because of its price. These wheels wear out as they are used and are considered disposable. I bought these to remove a broken clamp on my boat's 6 inch exhaust elbow. I used a cheap Harbor Freight "Dremel Like" tool which I've had for years. Anyway these wheels worked great in cutting through the stainless steel clamps in no time. I would definately buy these again but probably won't have to because there are many in the pack they sent. It also comes with it's own mandrel. The mandrel is high quality. 5 Stars all the way!

In defense of the item, i did not fully insert the shaft, leaving about half the shaft length out for cutting clearance. Scary hold in your hand lesson that any slight unbalance in a high rpm item will be immediately noticeable! The discs seem well made, but with the large opening to accomodate the mushroom end of this assembly, they are virtually useless now.

I had tried for a week to remove a nut from a bolt. Impact wrenches, heat, all kinds of leverage enhancing gimmicks and I was at a loss. I had a dremel tool with no cutting discs. This was a 10 pack as I really thought I would be needing quite a few. As it turns out only needed one to get the job done. I was very pleased with the ease of the operation. The disc cut right through the steel nut with precision and in a relatively short time period. They did what I expected and did it faster than I would have thought possible.

Bad quality. Mandrel material is a super soft chunky steel that easily bends. Honestly, the worst mandrel that I have ever had, and pretty much all of them have come from the same country of export. The mandrel bent almost immediately, but the discs are okay, pretty standard, and could be used with other mandrels.

These discs are not suitable for cutting any metal except maybe aluminum cans. While the listing mentions they are for cutting steel, the package label says they are for plastic and soft metals. Steel would not be considered a soft metal by most people. I went through all ten discs in about 15 minutes trying to cut down small MIG welds on sheet metal. I spent just as much time changing discs as I did grinding. I will not buy again and do not recommend this product to anyone wanting to cut steel.

The description said it will cut through steel, and even shows it cutting through a steel bolt. the packaging says "Easily cuts wood, plastic and soft metals."Very disappointing. It would be a good value, but not for my needs.

I bought these special to cut of some rebar sticking up on our patio (how'd THAT happen???). They cut through so easy (not super fast, I use a small Dremel). The discs don't break, don't wear fast, don't shed pieces. Surprisingly long lasting. The 10-pack will last a lifetime at this rate.
