I love this mattress cover! For all the reasons I am looking for. So last year I had to see an immunologist because of my chronic cough and he ended up advising me to get such a cover because I am allergic to dustmite. I did a bit of research then put it off. This year's high allergy season is coming soon. My husband and daughter had already been coughing for weeks. And also our 1.5 yo toddler keeps sleeping in our bed and messing it up with her various body fluids (which I will not specify here). So when I saw this one, I was like it is finally time to invest to protect our mattress and ourselves. The price is pretty reasonable for a Cal King size. And I liked how soft the top layer feels, which feels like full cotton, even though we do not sleep directly on it I can feel it through our thin layer of sheet ( we don't use anything in between currently and that is also why I feel it's so important to have another layer). Underneath the cotton layer there is a water proof layer. I was concerned about noise because it's kinda plasticy but now that we have put it on, I notice no trace if that. It is as good as we had nothing underneath. The bottom layer seems really water proof because when I washed it the water stayed pretty much on the surface. Yet we haven't had an accident yet so I can't say much there. The only difference I have noticed is that our mattress has a gel layer and some cooling effect, with this barrier I feel a bit less of that cooling effect. But I think that is to be expected for something that is waterproof. And I would exchange that for the protection anytime. Overall I am very satisfied with this product so far.

I needed a waterproof cover to prevent my mattress from any accidental stains as the warranty is voided if there is any stain on the covering should I need to file a claim. Other covers really bothered me because they feel like plastic and make it too hot to sleep. Or they are actually made of plastic and melt when they go into a cool dryer per the instructions. I like this one because it has a terrycloth type material on top which helps to not feel like I'm sleeping on a plastic mattress. Then after first use I spilled a cup of coffee on the mattress. Don't ask how just know that when I removed the cover the coffee had soaked in and i thought this is the ultimate test as I removed the sheets and saw how there was no coffee just a stain and I dreaded to think what the mattress looked like. But my worries were really for nothing as the coffee was in the cover not dripping or leaking out of the ends. I took to the washer put it thru following the directions. When I pulled the cover from washer I fully expected to see coffee stain and that would have been fine with me because it had done exactly what it was supposed to do and protected the mattress. I couldn't be happier to say no stain, I dried it again following directions and it came out clean, dry, and not melted or stuck together as the previous covers I've used did. Excellent product.

This is a great waterproof mattress protector. I have one on all the beds. This protector is not noisy when moving around on the bed. I have had some that sound like you are laying on plastic. With the right protector your mattress can remain in spotless condition clear up until the mattress wears out. I can highly recommend this.

I purchased this mattress protector for my brother about a week ago to use on his brand new mattress. The full size fits his full-sized, 12 inch thick mattress very well, hugs it closely and is easy to put sheets over. My brother has cancer and is taking chemo, so we never know what's coming from one day to the next. Last night it was diarrhea. You can hardly believe that the protector would actually work because it's so thin and lightweight, but it did the trick totally. Stained sheet and a stain on the terrycloth side of the protector, but nothing - I mean nothing - got through to the protector's underside or to the mattress. It washed well and didn't take over long to dry. I am sold and would buy this product again in a heartbeat. Sooo glad we got it when we did! UPDATE, June 2021: Since my post above made several years ago, I have bought this same mattress protector for the three beds in my own house, 2 queens and a king. They fit our thick mattresses well and I remain pleased with the quality.

Material looks and feels good. yes it's waterproof material. Texture and finishing is also good. Most important for me is Material is breathable. Protector is Compatible with my mattress. Just keep in mind the size before ordering.

US sizing? Bought for a UK king but loose even on my superking.

It is good and serves the purpose. It does make a small plastic sound when climbing on your bed which could wake up a sleeping baby (if they aren’t in deep slee). But fits perfectly on the mattress.
