**Q: Is an XL the right size for a 38-in. waist size?**
A: Hi Ron, Is an XL size jock strap the right size for a 38 inch waist??Well I don't like jock straps too tight & personally I've found that the majority of straps that I have purchased over the years have always been on the small size irrespective of what the label may say. However with regard this particular brand McDavid 3133, I would suggest you go with the "L" size. These are great straps but if you want them to last I wouldn't put them into the washing machine on their own but instead place them into a "laundry bag" first otherwise they won't last for too long!! I recently purchased some "Bike" branded jock straps & didn't put them into a laundry bag well within the second wash (no b/s here) the pouch elastic had already ripped & as I don't like wearing torn underwear I promptly threw both pairs out!!! Years ago a jock strap would last me for absolute years as I've always worn a jock daily!!! Not today man (yeah right) Hope this has helped you!! Regards,  Brendon

A: No,the fitting is closer to a dance belt; which allows for the design of the outer garment - swim brief. I find this comfortable when swimming or diving.

A: size small or extra small if available

**Q: what kind of cloth is this made from? Specifically, the cup**
A: Mesh material  made from 70% polyester and 30% latex.  There is no plastic cup and the mesh material is comfortable.  The bike swimmer/joker gives more support and holds up better then the Mc David supporter.
