Perfect!
This metronome/tuner is perfect for guitar. I have only tuned by plugging in my electric guitar. It was very responsive. by this I mean that you dont have to turn the knob, then wait a moment for the screen to catch up. The tuner seems very accurate. I tuned my guitar with this tuner, used my 1/4" to USB converter and plugged it into my MacBook Pro. It was very close on every string, but I have never been too sure about the quality of the Garage Band tuner. The Garage Band tuner flitters back and forth from tuned to low or high, yet the needle on the Korg is very steady. This makes it much easier to get it perfect by the tuner. I would like to believe that the Korg is more accurate than my computer, but I guess I have nothing to base that on. If it isn't, it at least it's way easier to use. Plug it in, turn it on, end of story. It detects if something is plugged in and uses it instead of the microphone automagically. The deal where you tune it to the pitch it plays kind of has an annoying sound. I am not good with tuning that way, so I don't use it. Plus, why would you use it if you have a real tuner in your same hand. The only complaint I have, is I wish you could tell it which string you want to tune, instead of only having it tell you what note is being played. The metronome is also very good. It has more features than I knew a metronome could have, but I know nothing about metronomes. I love the feature where you tap the button twice and it automagicaly metronomes at the rate you hit the button. They should use this same technology in windshield wiper blades. I have wished this for a long time, even before I got this tuner. Just saying. The thing beeps instead of clicks. If you really want clicks, don't get this. Its NBD for me. Both parts can be used at the same time. Never used both at the same time, but it's good to know. The buttons and features of this thing are not completely obvious. Just read the page it gives you. As us nerds say, RTFM.

The only metronome/tuner at a great price
This is the best metronome/tuner I have owned. When I was browsing through all the metronomes at Amazon, all I saw was products that look like iPods, birth control containers, and huge watches. However, when I saw this metronome, it was screaming at me to buy. When I saw that there was only one left in stock, I just had to order it. Pros: This metronome is the most aesthetic out of the rest. The color scheme is perfect and the buttons are easy to press. You can even output the metronome and reference sounds. The metronome is loud and the display is the very user-friendly and even has a stand. The tuner function is AMAZING and fun. It can sense if your voice (or other instrument) is off tune and if you are singing the correct note. You can even input a mic or instrument via 1/4" cable for tuning. When I started using the tuner I had so much fun and learned at the same time. I am also an organist and choir member and I plan to use it to train the choir and myself in my church. Cons: This metronome is somewhat portable (lightweight but buttons are not recessed). I wish there was a sturdy case for it since buttons could be pressed in my bag. Some improvements: -A bluish backlit display (like in Camry '07) -Rubber feet Bottom Line: The best budget-priced metronome/tuner for choir, singers, and general instrument players.

Quality tuner/metronome for the price
This digital tuner and metronome is a decent little device. The tuner features are basically what I would have expected and are pretty standard. You can use it to play a straight tone, use a 1/4" input jack to get digital tuning feedback, or you can use the built-in microphone to get digital tuning feedback from the visual display panel. All very standard and functional, but I have to say that my old Boss digital effects pedal for my bass has a much better tuner. The metronome features, which are what I purchased the device for, are simple but functional. The metronome has 13 beat patterns that cover 0-7 beats per measure as well as doublets, triplets, triplets with center beats omitted, quadruplets, and quadruplets with center beats omitted. Tempo controls allow a range of 40 to 208 BPM, but the BPM intervals are not smooth. When changing tempos you'll jump from 40 to 42 to 44 at the low end of things, jump by 4's and 6's in the middle ranges, and at the high end the tempo controls tend to jump in 8's (208, 200, 192, 184, etc). I really would have preferred finer tuned control, but I understand the limitation to these devices. The beats that you get are steady and acceptable, definitely good enough to get a good feel of a beat. Buttons are clearly marked I haven't been able to get a good measure of the battery life on the device, but it uses two AAA batteries and has an auto shut-off feature. Overall, the interface is simple and functional. I was able to use all of the features without having to dig through the manual. I wish that the device felt a bit heavier and durable, but I still think that it will probably be able to survive in my gig bag for at least several years. I have used nicer metronomes and tuners before, but as a combined product for the price, this is a good choice for the traveling musician. It will get the job done, but if someone swipes it or you lose it the replacement cost isn't really an issue.

Solid musical tool
From the picture I expected it to be a larger device but it is actually quite compact. (A little smaller than an iPhone 4). Screen is clear and easy to ready, has a back light if you need it. Tuning is very accurate. I plug my guitar into it and it is very sensitive. I have to be careful on how hard I pluck as that distorts pitch which this tuner definitely notices. Also plays pitch for you to match to if you need it. Microphone is sensitive enough to tune with from a foot or two away. (On the music stand while siting in front of it to practice) Metronome is loud enough to hear while I'm playing my acoustic guitar. Plays a "big" beat at the beginning of each measure. You can adjust to up to 9 beats per measure as well as have it play doublets, triplets, 1st and 3rd only triplets. Tempo is adjusted either by the single bpm or you can set it to standard metronome which runs by 2's,and 4's. It also has a "tap" tempo button. I really enjoy using this! It's a great tool to have and seems to be more accurate than the "needle" tuner I used to use. Worth the money in my opinion.

Convenient and Reliable
A few years ago, my son's private lesson teacher suggested this, and it quickly became our favorite accessory for his case! The metronome is fantastic, and I love that you can easily tap into the tempo. He hasn't figured out how to increase or decrease the tempo by just one beat, but that's okay! The tuner is an excellent addition to have on the stand. He enjoys using the tuner and metronome together, even if it’s just on the 8th note subdivision. It's super versatile—you can set it quiet or crank it up when needed. Plus, it fits perfectly in the case for travel! I would recommend it!

fabulous
this metronome is just fabulous for the price. I actually wanted a tuner specifically but realized I could get a portable metronome in that tuner for an extra $10. So I bought this model with both. The tuner is pretty cool in that it will tell you what note is being played and a green light comes on as long as the pitch is within the acceptable range. I think the tuner may be hyper-sensitive as I can never get both my 2nd octave C and the C above that in tune at the same time on my flute. I have not experimented at all with the calibration function, though. Still, I'm happy and find it to have improved my duet practice. The metronome is great too. It's loud enough that we can both hear it during duet practice. I figured out both the metronome and tuner functions without having to read the manual so I think their operation is fairly obvious. What I love is that you can turn on just the tuner or turn on just the metronome. You do not turn both on automatically. I love the small, portable size too. And I love the decent price. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

PHENOMENAL! I LOVE IT!!!
I love this! I love that it is a tuner and a metronome. It has a lot of settings (I haven't figured them all out yet). It is high-quality. The metronome isn't LOUD, so it isn't designed for a big group to play over or anything. But it's definitely loud enough for personal use. The tuner works well, and it catches my playing even while people are playing all around me. I love it. It's worth the money! Also, when I pulled this out in band for the first time, my teacher asked to look at it because it was a really nice one. Now in class when he needs a metronome or a tuner, he comes and pulls it off my stand. :D

Great product
I purchased this item to help me tune my flute and to work on playing in tune seeing that flutes tend to be by nature out of tune at some point in the three registers. The device works great for this purpose. There is a short lag time to when it picks up the note but this appears to be under a second. If you are looking to tune higher octives, the device seems to have a harder time locking into the note. I tried this on our yamaha electric pianio and it was quite noticable. I don't know if this means though that my panio is sharp in this note range or if the tuner is at issue. Seeing that I have no tuning forks in that range, I can't test it, so I can only speculate. I also tested the device at a public music recital. I sat in the back of the church and it was able to read the notes of people playing the flute at the front of the church (without a microphone). This included quite a lot of audience noise. In short, it is an awsome buy for the money. If you really need dead on measurement for the upper third portion of the pianio's notes, you might consider a higher end product.

Le deux en un
Partie accordeur : précis et efficace. Partie métronome : volume sonore juste suffisant, mesures à 2 temps, 3, 4,5,6,7 temps, croches, triolets, doubles croches.

An excellent piece of kit
Don't be fooled by the price, this tuner/metronome is the business! Compact, efficient and easy to use... well done Korg, another winner! There really isn't much to add here, the tuner is fast and accurate both in direct input and mic modes, although I'll probably only use this one with direct input since I use a clip-on tuner with my acoustic guitars. The metronome on the other hand is incredibly useful as an acoustic aid and I'm sure will prove to be invaluable. Very easy to set and use and my playing is already benefiting from being more disciplined. As I said in the title - this Korg Tuner & Metronome is an excellent piece of kit.

Deshalb klare Empfehlung.

Very good
Being new to guitars, it's difficult to review this as I don't have any experience or alternative items to use as comparisons. I've had the tuner/metronome for a few weeks now and it seems very good. Both the tuning and metronome functions work as I would expect. Tuner works via an in built microphone or via the socket on the side if you wish to plug a guitar or other cabled instrument in and it is chromatic to handle other tunings you might want to use. You can use either the tuner or metronome separately or both at the same time but I've been mainly using the tuner. The LCD screen is clear but cannot be back lit but it's easy to use and has flashing lights at the top for the metronome and tuning which allow it to be used in darker situations where seeing the screen may be difficult. The metronome I've used less but has plenty settings for different tempos and rhythms and it has a tap function letting you tap in a tempo which it will then recognise. It also has a volume control and headphone socket. I'm happy with it, and it seems a good item for the price.
