CS Osborne No. 120 1/2 Staple Lifter - Heavy-Duty Upholstery Nail Tack Remover Tool

I used this to remove some medium to heavy duty staples from the bottom of a foot rest I'm reupholstering. So far, no issues with the tips being too fragile. This seems like a very nice quality tool The points are perfect for digging in underneath the staples. The angle of the bend near the tip feels a little shallow at times, but if it were deeper I don't think you'd be able to get the leverage you need to jam the points underneath the staple. The points are so sharp I was very mindful during the whole removal process so I wouldn't stab myself, but the handle and ergonomics of the tool did give me a feeling of general control over it. No awkward fumbling while trying to pry the staples out. A few staples broke upon removal because they were so wedged into the wood. You'll also likely need another tool to remove them (vise grips with a crisp tip to pull them, or a hammer to nail them in) This is worth the money I spent on it due to the time saved.

This is a wonderful tool! It is indispensible for upholstery work. I am in my 3rd upholstery class and it is in constant use. It is sturdy and durable. It saves lots of time as one can efficiently lift staples so that they can be removed with minimum damage to the wooden frame of the furniture project. I would definitely recommend this brand and size of this particular product. The price was very reasonable compared to others on the market of lesser quality.

I know Its temping to buy other brands when comparing price but we ve been using this tool for over 30 yrs and it is still the same quality .

I’ve purchased this staple remover three times and use it regularly for upholstery work. It’s sturdy, precise, and makes removing staples much easier without damaging the material. A dependable tool that holds up well with frequent use.

When reupoltering an item full of staples, removing the original staples or the newly added can be a real struggle, if not impossible. Trying to donit with the wrong toll is difficult and can result in serious damage to the work piece. After looking at and trying some other staple removers, I came across this design. It's simple, no moving parts and very solid. The very fine points allow you to get very close to the staple edge and dig under without doing much, if any, damage to the project. I was surprised at how strong the points were and thought they would break, but the staples usually broke instead. Even then, the tool was versatile enough to remove most staples intact or broken without the use of other tools. It's a real time and effort saver and invaluable to anyone seeious about their work. Pros: Strong; Surprisingly well made for cost; simple to use; No (easily) breakable parts. Cons: specialty item that's hard to find in stores. Overlooked for less effective, fancier products that can break easily. (No real cons)

Couldn't find it anywhere else and is a must have if you do upholstery work.

We needed to reupholster several bar stools. Many staples to remove. In the past I have used a screw driver and a pair of pliers. This tool worked very well to help with the removal process. I still had to use pliers an a few of the staples that were stubborn. The tool is solidly constructed both in the shaft and the handle. It was a good value for the money and made the job much simpler.
