Works Well
I bought this unit about two months ago, tried it out on an older Craftsman garage door opener and had good luck with it so I purchased a second one for my second Craftsman opener. The unit connects to the same two terminals that are used by the interior manual garage door switch mounted on the wall and acts as a button press on that switch. If you have an older model with screw connectors on the opener, connecting the two required wires is trivial. My newer model, however, has push connectors which only allow one wire to be connected so I had to splice the wire before the connector. It’s low dc voltage so not a big deal, just a little more work. Both units are wire tied out of the way on the opener mounts where I can see their indicator lights. You’ll need to provide a USB power adaptor. I have several lying around and they worked fine. You may need to also consider some long micro USB cables, depending on where your 120v outlets are. The door sensor is a simple magnetic switch and you get several small pieces of hardware to mount it, such as brackets, wood screws, adhesive pads, etc. Note: if you install the application and get that working first, you can then easily mount the magnetic switch and magnet and use the application to see if it’s working correctly because the application will show you the open/closed state in real time. This means you do not have to guess if the magnet and sensor are close enough. Just mount the magnetic switch first, then move the magnet until you see the state change from on (open) to off (closed) and then mount it on your garage door. The unit requires the TuyaSmart application with works fine on my Samsung S8 running 8.0.0, although the English is a little marginal at times. The door/window sensor applet is used and it allows you to manually open or close the door from anywhere over the internet, send alerts to your phone when it open or closes, or set a timer. There are other automation options but I’m currently just using the alerts to let me know when the doors are opened and closed. As indicated above, the applet indicates the door is “on” or “off” when you check its state (if you care) but the alerts correctly say “opened” or “closed”. Open and closed activity is also stored as history in a function called “record”, which appears to go back about a week. I mostly use these units to ensure the doors are shut when I want them to be because occasionally debris, like walnuts, will roll under the doors and cause them to auto reverse when closing and sometimes that’s not obvious when pulling away from the house, leaving them open for long periods of time. I could use app's timer for this purpose, to just shut the door after some set period of time, but I haven’t bothered, plus it might be inconvenient when I want the door to remain open for an extended period – though it’s easily disabled through the app’s automation menu.No complaints. 4 Stars for working as indicated but with some unpolished English.

Great simple way to smartify your garage door
I gotta say, this product is great. We needed another remote control for our garage door and I thought we might as well get a smart opener since they're so cheap so we picked up this one. The installation is dead simple (you just insert a couple wires into the back of the opener and then run some wire to the door for the sensor) and the functionality is great.I love that it works with the Smart Life app since I already have many devices in there. Because it works through Smart Life the connection with Google Assistant/Alexa is fantastic. The only downside on that end is that it isn't recognized as a door, but as a switch. All this means is that you have to say "turn on/off" the garage door instead of "open/close". However, you can easily setup a Google Assistant routine that maps the "open/close garage door" command to the "turn on/off" command so that's what I did.As far as networking goes I've had no complaints. We live in a three story townhouse where this is on the ground floor in the garage and our Wifi router is all the way up on the top floor in the office. However, since it connects to the 2.4GHz band of the router I've had no signal drops at all (I don't have a super powerful router either). I also love that it will give you notifications of when the door is opened and you can check the status of the door right from the app. I've actually had times where I've forgotten to close the door on the way to work and end up doing it later in the day from my phone due to the app. This gets an easy 5 stars from me. I own a lot of smart home devices and this one is easy to install and use. I'd highly recommend.

Allows opening/closing garage door from Google Assistant without pin code
I was looking for a smart garage home opener adapter that I could voice control via google assistant, but that did not require a pin code to open the door. From what I've read most other adapters require saying a pin code to open the door, which was a non-starter for me. Fortunately this adapter registers the opener like a light switch, so no pin code is required. To get around the "turn on/off the garage door" issue I just added two routines with the commands "open/close the garage door". Now it works exactly like I had hoped. By touching my Pixel Buds while approaching the garage on my bike I can request the door opened by the time I roll up to the garage. Beautiful!Side note: the first device I received didn't power on. I emailed their support but never heard back. In the end I just ordered a replacement through Amazon.

cheap way to add alexa control to garage door!!
Purchased this device to add alexa control to my garage door opener so I could open or close my door remotely. I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars to replace a perfectly good garage door opener with an Alexa enabled one. I have to say for 50 bucks I am impressed. It installed easily hooked up to my home network easily and works perfectly. It installs itself as a switch so the command to open the door is " turn on the garage door". And the command to close the door is " turn off the garage door", but other than that it performs as described. It's a nice feature to be notified when the door is opened. I spend 4 months a year in Fl. and it is nice t be able to let someone in the garage without having to give out the code.

Great price, and works well with a lot of options!
When I began looking for a wireless garage door controller, I considered a GoControl model because it uses the same Z-wave connection that I already used with my Vera controller and other timers. However, while that's okay, I saw this was cheaper and didn't require a hub by just using WiFi. A video about it showed how easy it was to install, and now that I've got it, I can say it was easy... plus, it works great! The hardest part was making sure I got the sensor aligned properly with my garage door... Which has more to do with my door than the sensor.Anyway, I highly recommend this. Use with Alexa took only a couple minutes to setup. One caveat... Make sure you connect this on 2.4Ghz WiFi, because it won't recognize a 5Ghz network, and your phone needs to be on that network during setup process only. After that it can be whatever.
