Yogi Bear is a classic Hanna-Barbera animated program about the smart and very mischievous Yogi Bear, his young bear friend Boo Boo, the love-struck Cindy Bear, and their escapades in Jellystone Park under the watchful eyes of Ranger Smith. This full-length, 1964 movie was Hanna-Barbera's first animated theatrical release and features several songs including James Darren's rendition of "Ven-e Ven-o, Ven-a." Re-mastering gives this DVD a nice crisp picture. Kids and adults alike will delight in the crazy capers of Yogi Bear--escapades that revolve around satisfying Yogi's never-ending appetite and range from posing as the park's food inspector to unleashing special forces of trained picnic ants on unsuspecting picnickers. When Yogi's pranks go too far, Ranger Smith ships him off to the San Diego zoo, but things don't go quite as planned and Yogi ends up setting off on his own in pursuit of Cindy Bear while Boo Boo is left in Jellystone without his two closest frien! ds. Yogi and Cindy wind up in every conceivable situation from being held against their will by the shady "Chizzling Brothers Travelling Circus" to inadvertently winding up smack in the middle of New York city, but thankfully, this "smarter-than-your-average-bear" is determined to find a way to safely return to Jellystone Park. --Tami Horiuchi Hey There, It's Yogi Bear Everybody's favorite bear stars in his own full-length animated feature. When Yogi comes out of hibernation in Jellystone Park, he demonstrates the qualities that make him so rare a bear: He successfully pits his wits against those of those devious circus magnates, the Chisling Brothers; daringly raids Jellystone's picnic areas disguised as the "Brown Phantom"; and romances his ever lovin' gal friend, Cindy Bear, in this animated adventure that travels the world from Jellystone to Venice. Review: Funny movie for the kids and family - Good quality Review: Hey There, It's Yogi Bear DVD - I am so glad this movie finally came to DVD. I had recorded it from TV onto videotape years and years ago. I think it's such a great movie with lots of happy, peppy songs (that I STILL remember) and wanted to give it as a gift to my great-niece. I know she will have a lot of enjoyment watching it as I did as a child. It's also nice that it's not a short length movie but a full length movie. The plot is interesting and the characters are plentiful (ones to cheer for and ones to boo at). Very good movie.

Full of giggles.
This movie is from the 1960's when Yogi Bear was at his peak of popularity, so the quality of the script was fun and silly. I remember as a kid seeing this movie and loving it. This movie was a big hit and the theater seats were packed with kids and their parents. The DVD still has its charm. It is a animated movie I was glad to add to my collection. Funny, cute, romantic, and charming to name just a few of its appeal. It is a concept in movies that is lost today. It was clean, nice and full of giggles.

Must own for fans who grew up watching Hanna-Barbera shows.
This movie is a lot of fun. I grew up watching Hanna-Barbera cartoons so itโs great to see one as a feature length movie. It looks good on Blu-ray. Iโm glad it had the Happy Birthday Yogi Bear episode but I would have liked more special features. At least a trailer should have been added. Still itโs a must own for Hanna- Barbera and animation fans of all ages.

This is the Real Yogi Bear
I saw this movie back when it first came out in 1964 (I was 8), and it's just as great as I remember. After several years of "limited" TV animation, this first feature-length movie by Hanna-Barbera since their divorce from MGM in 1957 (they did the Tom & Jerry cartoons) gave them a chance to show what they could do. Both the animation and backgrounds are much more elaborate than the Yogi Bear TV cartoons. Daws Butler and Don Messick are in full voice, Butler as the voice of Yogi, Messick as Boo-Boo and Ranger Smith. The songs and score, by David Gates and jazz musician Marty Paich, are the last gasp of traditional pre-rock 32-bar popular music. Younger listeners may blanch; these 54-year old ears enjoyed the h*** out of it. Cindy Bear's oh-so-demure yet marriage-hungry girly-girl wouldn't play well in theaters now, but hey, this was 1964. Don't analyze. Just enjoy, and carry yourself back to a time when cargo planes had propellers, cars had fins, and women wore skirts to go camping in national parks. One thing hasn't changed: as an old lady in an elevator harumphs toward movie's end, "New York's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there."

Hey there!
Couldn't resist buying this - the last time was at the cinema at Christmas time, circa 1964/5! I've never forgotten it - it was double-billed with "Thunderbirds are Go" at the time. Might be a good idea for Amazon to sell these two together?
