I gave the kit and broken monitor to my friend and she fixed my monitor successfully. My friend said it took more time to dismantle the screen that the actual soldering of components. My monitor is working great and I have had no issues since the repair. I suggest you buy the inexpensive kit and try to repair. **Q: Is there an easy way I can I tell if I have a Rev. 0.1 204B or a Rev 0.0 204B? Thanks.** A: I ordered the 0.1 kit, but ended up finding an 0.0 board inside (these things are a bugger to open and I don't like leaving screws or parts lying around for days to lose or forget exactly the sequence). Uses the SAME capacitors. My 0.0 rev 204B was manufactured in 2006It was the 820uF ones that were bulging, but replaced all given the marginal time/effort required once torn down.The kit has some 35V caps to replace 25V ones, this is fine, just slightly bigger/better rated. **Q: Original capacitors was 25V 330uF, included was 35V 330uF. I did the repair and it is working. Do I need to be worried about the different voltage?** A: Capacitor voltages are the maximum they can handle before burning out, blowing up, etc.. A 35v cap can handle a higher voltage spike than a 25v. The cap in question is rated to be stronger than the one you took out. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Back from the dead... *by J***O on January 28, 2013* I have a Samsung Syncmaster 204B...about a month ago it started flickering very rapidly when powered on. Eventually it just showed a black screen for a few seconds followed by the flickering. Each day it got worse, and took longer and longer for the display to show anything.So I did some searching and came across this kit. In short, it was a lifesaver - my monitor is now working perfectly.Just make sure to follow the directions very carefully, pay attention to detail, and solder correctly and it'll work like a charm. I'm very grateful a kit like this exists - it basically saved me $150-$200 since I didn't have to buy a new monitor.If your monitor is flickering when powered on, or the screen goes blank for a short time, it's likely the capacitors on the power board. They make kits like this for many different monitors, so before throwing it in the trash, try this first! ### ⭐ Not all capacitors match 204B rev 0.1 board *by K***N on February 26, 2016* Nowhere in the product description does it say which actual capacitors you get, only that these are what you need.Well, for the Samsung 204B Rev 0.1 board that I have, it has 3-25v 330uf caps instead of 35v that are included in the kit, so I didn't use those.The 2-25v 820uf caps are the ones that seem to blow and mine were bad. After they were replaced, and the 50v 47uf too, the monitor came up. Was hoping to swap out all the cheap brand caps, but oh well the monitor at least works like it did when new again.My advice is source caps on your own because what I got didn't completely match what was on the board.What is more annoying is I emailed the support/info address and didn't get a response.Attaching shot of my board with two of the non-matching caps shown.
