Purchased as a Christmas present for my 21 year old grandson. I don't think he wasn't overly impressed but he will find it useful when he gets a house. This book is a follow on of the original Readers Digest version and appears to be very useful. Unfortunately up to date information sheets will, over time,eventually get lost. Suggest revert back to lever arch files.

If I lived in the USA I would have given it 5 stars but for the uk, not so much, but still OK for some projects.

I am in disbelief that this is being offered for sale on the amazon UK website. This is specifically for the US/Canadian DIY market , not the UK market. I looked at the electrical section wrt circuit breakers and power points and couldn't relate this to anything I have encountered in the UK. Wiring in the UK is different to the US/Canada - the voltage requirements are different.Do not purchase this book if you live in the UK.

Good book but its for the USA market not UK.

Better to get a UK DIY manual

American terminology. Very disappointing and quite honestly, a waste of money.

We can search almost all things by internet, but sometimes compare different pages is troublesome. A book is convenient and easy to go and back to compare. This book express structures and many ways to maintain the house with many pictures and illustrations. Recommended to have one at home.

This book will come in handy for a young family member, who recently bought his first house. He is a little handy to start, and just need directions to help. This book is well made for this purpose as it has large pictures of step by step instructions. Very happy with this purchase. Family member loved it.

It’s still a reference but I must confess that I was expecting more technical tips, but still recommended.

Great Handyman book from Readers Digest for everything around the house

Book has a lot of content. Not a ton of information on any one subject but its definitely a good starting place for a lot of topics. I would say for the average person this has enough information for any jobs that they would try to tackle on their own without being professionals and if there is not enough in depth information its at least a good starting point to know what questions you need to ask.
