Cheap product and unsafe
This bilge float switch is CRITICAL for safety on the water and while the boat is docked for long periods. The float lever "sticks" in the "on" position even after the water level goes down to normal, causing the bilge pump to run continuously and eventually burn it. Spend the extra $$$ ($40 - $60) to get a GOOD switch!

Broke after one use. Don’t trust your boat to it
Literally broke in the first week of use. Placed in the bilge of my sailboat. First installed and tested. It worked as advertised. I drained the water from my water tanks which drained into the bilge. The float switch activated fine but would not turn off. This is about after 15 minutes of being activated. If I hadn’t have staid on my boat it would have ran forever. The switch no longer has any effect on the bilge pump but at least it doesn’t inhibit operation in the manual mode.

Perfect replacement for 2 year old Rule bilge alarm that crapped out just after 2 year
Perfect replacement for 2 year old Rule bilge alarm that crapped out just after 2 year old warranty expired. Pair this very high quality float switch with a Pactrade Marine high water bilge alarm newly installed in the helm. Very sweet set-up for a very important feature for West Coast off shore fishing boat.

Garbage
Finally had a decent rain after putting my boat in the water for the year. After putting this float switch in to replace the old switch which failed last year, this switch never turned the bilge pump on. So, I ended up with so much water in my boat that it was over the starter which has created it's own issue. So I wouldn't waste my time and money on this switch if you're looking for a decent replacement.

size counts
I have a v-drive flat bottom boat that doesn't have much room for a bilge pump. The switch works perfectly for the space.I had to make a mounting plate to access the space so it would clear all the steering mechanism. It would be better if they were a little smaller.

Who knows if it's any good....
Who knows if it's any good until it either stops your boat sinking or doesn't. Mostly these cheap pump switches are rubbish - and so are the expensive ones, so fit a loud alarm if you don't like sinking.
