Sturdy and simple for vertical windows.
Used this vertically for a couple windows and it works great and was easy to setup, can be adjusted to allow the window to be open a crack. The adhesion is okay, it's a little pricier than other options, but so far it appears to be good quality.

Secure your double hung windows
Pretty great product. It's easy to install / remove and does what it claims to do. I installed these into double hung windows that were installed incorrectly and couldn't lock as the male and female parts of the lock didn't line up no matter what I tried. I was able to wedge this in between the lower window and lip of the upper window, and when in place my windows couldn't open. This product doesn't have any cons other than the fact that it takes 30 seconds to get the unit fully extended as the locking pin deploys after each 1 hole movement. I see people complaining about the advertised length vs the actual length, but my guess is that they either bought the wrong product (there are two lengths) or they don't know that the screw attached to the rubber stopper can be safely unscrewed partially to reach the advertised max length.

Sturdy and Does the Job for the Price
This window lock bar feels sturdy and worked well in my small window to help secure my window AC unit. It was easy to install and gives some peace of mind. That said, it may not offer as much adjustability or range as some other options out there, so it’s best suited for smaller or more standard-sized windows. Overall, I’m happy with it for the price—it does what I needed it to do and feels solid enough for regular use.

Well Made But Should Be a Companion Piece
I used this to secure a vertical window that has a window AC installed. It's well made but I was actually close to returning it because it was just a little too short for my window. The next peg down was too tight and the next peg up was too short. Just then, I realize that you can unscrew the rubber portion at the bottom for micro adjustments. If you can't get a tight fit on your window, you'll want to use the screw near the rubber portion to get it as tight as possible. I do think the bar is probably better suited for sliding glass since it will sit flat on the sill and keep the window from being opened. For vertical windows, someone could just break your window and just push the bar out of the way. I still think it's good to have and extra peace of mind but I would probably go a step further with sash locks in addition to the security bar for extra protection. It will certainly defeat the average dumb crook but if someone really wants in, you'll want more than a bar that can be defeated by breaking the glass. It's still a good product and very well made and sturdy which is why I'm going 5 stars.

Really Sturdy - Cheaper & Easier than Installing a 'Cat Door'
Wanted something to secure the sliding glass door from the house to our screened-in patio (lanai), so we could leave it open "just a crack" for the cat to use. When fully extended in the track of our older sliding door, it leaves about a 6 inch opening ... perfect for our Fat Cat, but too narrow for a human. This ended up being considerably cheaper (and much easier) than installing a cat door! There is virtually no installation. We just set it in the track, and even my adult son can't force the door open when it's in there. For added security it can be attached to the wall ... which I haven't gotten around to yet, but looks very easy to do.

Works very well
Bought 2 of these for a sliding door dog door. After installing the dog door, I placed these approximately 3 feet and 5 feet from the floor. Being adjustable I was able to use these to get a good seal between the dog door, and the sliding glass door, and door frame. Plus this makes it secure so nothing is getting in that shouldn't. Easy to adjust. Easy to install, and they work.

Easy and it works!

Not super versatile
Not sure if I was using it on the wrong type of window but I’m sure it would work for some types. Did not work for me and isn’t super sturdy. I think it may only fit certain windows.
