How can 2 lbs of lanolin fit in a "4 oz bag"?

I don't remember how many ounces the bag was. I transferred it into two containers. The bag, as I remember, was appropriate for the amount - maybe a quart or two.

Does this contain vitamin D3?

I don't recall it being on the label nor t do I know if it would have been. But it's been over a year since I bought it and transferred it into a couple of containers (it came in a plastic bag).

Can this be used to waterproof wool?

Lanolin comes from wool. It is a natural substance extracted after shearing. Lanolin makes excellent waterproofing. I mix it with mineral spirits and coat tools in the solution to keep them from rusting. This is a waxy substance that would need to be put back into an aqueous-type solution in order to retreat wool. Obviously water would not work at a cutting agent unless, perhaps, it were hot. I am uncertain if heated it would dissolve. Good luck!
