Amazing product - my shoes were reborn
The reason why I bought this product was that I had a pair of really comfortable heels which were badly injured on a day when I was in a rush to catch my train. I couldn't simply bin them... Giving them a chance for a new life I ordered this product and honestly it did an amazing job. My beige courts turned into vivid blue color and the dye covered the injured patches really smoothly. The new color and surface is amazing with a lovely smooth shine as an addition to the cheerful color. I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation. The only advice I would add is that you need to be patient with the dying - each layer has to get dry (min. 6 hours) and I had to apply 3 layers to get the perfect cover. Furthermore, use the sponge for every parts (even for the heels and sides) as it gets wrinkled if too much dye is applied. Don't worry if the color looks a bit odd after the first layer is added, just carry on...

Fantastic result - really professional finish (you wouldn't know they ...
I used one of the Tarrago blue colours to dye a pair of cream shoes I had spilt red wine on and which had marked badly. Fantastic result - really professional finish (you wouldn't know they were dyed, no sign of red wine, and seems robust after many days of wear. I then order the beige for a pair of good quality heels I have had for many years but really were needing to be thrown away as they were badly scuffed including the toes peeling. Just an amazing result when I dyed these today. Really worthwhile for rescuing shoes - the instructions are excellent and you do it all in one session as the dye dries quickly even with 3 coats. Top notch product. NB both shoes were leather.

Quick delivery and a great product, worked well on brown shoes
Product easy to use. Needed a couple of coats to get a really goof finish and that helped produce a deep red colour, just what I was after.

This shoe dye is very good.
Excellent product; immediate delivery and was very successful indeed. I needed a good leather dye because my beloved Tamaris lilac sandals had faded in the sun but still had masses of wear left in them; they were expensive, so I wanted to make the most of them. As there wasn't an exact match on the shadecard, I opted for Metallic Antique Silver and the result was stunning. It gave the shoes a new lease of life and was extremely easy to use.

NOT a dye
Firstly this is not a dye its a surface colourant which does not penetrate leather. Having said that it covers quite well but dries like one of those liquid polish with a sponge on the end types.Seems to have done a reasonable job, will have to see how long it lasts on shoes worn outdoors.

Does what it says on the box.
I bought this recently in th ehope of reviving my favourite pair of red 1940's sandals which had just had the soles replaced as i wore them to death.I was slightly dubious but it turned out to be an excellent product and did just what it said on the box. The sandals look almost new and i can't wait to use it on more shoes. I'm no longer restricted to finding shoes in a style and colour that i like because i can buy them in any colour and dye them all red!If i had to find one drawback i would say that the brush provided is not the best but it did the job.

Excellent product
This really does work. It will cover your leather or fake leather shoes in a brand new colour. I have used other colours in this range to change the colour of some of my shoes. You may have to do a few layers but the end result is very impressive.

A Nightmare and ruined my items!
Having used the Black version before, I thought I'd try the red when I bought some leather belts for an outfit I'm making for a charity event.Never again! The dye was very watery, more so than it should be. The preparer did nothing, and after two layers (as recommended) of dye had dried, I decided to try wearing one to see if it had dyed properly.Instead, the dye rubbed off onto my clothes, and when I rinsed one under the top to see if it would be water resistant (like it's supposed to be, and not rub off), the water turned red and it ran off! I ended up with my belt with small patches of red on it, and it is costing me more money to rectify than what I wanted to spend to dye it!It may just be the bottle I got (unusually thin dye), but use any colour other than black with extreme caution.

Fixing a mistake
I purchased a leather messenger bag on Ebay. While I usually have great luck and great sellers, this one really exaggerated the "barely used" aspect of the bag. It was deeply stained and looked horrible. I almost cried and then I almost threw it away. I did some research and found a purse forum recommendng this product. I sucked it up and thought I would try it. I would at least learn something new.The bag was a deep reddish-brown. I chose a cognac color, which turned out to be lighter. I received the product fairly quickly. I tend to be impatient (the type that stains a wood piece 32 times in one afternoon) so I forced myself to follow directions and go slowly.I followed directions to the letter and the end product is amazing!!!! I used the preparer to prepare the bag. It will ask you to use a used scotchbrite type pad--here I deviated, I used a new one. This step was amazing and quick. Took it down to the beautiful bare leather. Then the staining. Stir well, then pour into a little cup or plate. Go slow and follow the directions. It's a snap!! If the stain gets on your hands or metal pieces it will come off really easy, so don't fret. A little water or scrubbing will do the trick.Tips I learned from the purse site: if you are doing a bigger item, use the foam brushes you buy at a hardware department. Let the item you are staining set a couple of days before use. Also, finish up with some gentle leather conditioner a couple of days after you're done. It took me a weekend.I can't paste pictures, but if you want to see some things people have done, google Tarrago Dye and visit the purse forums. Amazing transformations. The outcome is not as shiny as the pictures look, either. For those who say it peels off: I think they might have done too many coats at once and didn't let it dry. No color transfer or peeling. It's not a paint, it is a dye. A high quality dye.I have bought black and red to fix a couple of other bags I want to keep longer.FYI: there is also a Youtube video which demonstrates the product as well.Update: it is now summer 2013 and the bags still look great! Also, I again got a misrepresented product from eBay--this time a pair of "brand new" " white" Keds shoes. They may have been white at some point, but they arrived at my door an ugly yellow-white. I used leftover red dye and they look fantastic now!! Still love this product!
