I haven’t tested on the water yet, but the difference is like the day and night. Now I can move the engine with my hands.. amazing.. The installation was easy fallowing the instructions.. I did it by myself and not problema at all.. Can’t wait to try on the sea.

Bought this to replace an old steering cable in a 86 Tuffy. Could not even find a factor replacement cable for old one so bought this. Was just a little short but we made it work. Motor now turns like a charm and is easy to steer again. For the cost I would defiantly recommend.

All parts were of high quality and the directions easy to follow. I now have a 30 year old boat that steers better than new.

Installed in maybe 1 or 2 hours. Super easy and steers like new. Thought I would need a helping hand but the thing went in much easier than the old one came out. Did the job solo with little previous experience.

The helm, cable, mount, and bezel are great. I don't understand why plated bolts, instead of stainless, were included in the installation kit. I ended up have to go to the hardware store and buy stainless bolts to replace the ones that were in the kit. It wouldn't have been so bad but, I had installed 5 of the 6 bolts before I noticed that they were plated, and not stainless. Installation is simple, but not easy, unless you have good access to the helm. 5 stars for the product, one star for the hardware.

Make sure you check your old cable and helm to ensure you are ordering the same length and type. This replaced mine and works perfectly.

The box that cable came in was damaged but the contents were ok. Some of the bolts that came with the helm were not suitable for my application so I had to replace them. The helm and cable work well .

It was a perfect fit and super easy to install, had all the pieces I needed to install it. Great product the steering is nice and easy again.

I ordered the kit using the measuring instructions and it worked perfectly. Arrived quickly, instructions were good and it was easy to install. Very satisfied.
