Fits my big head on the last click
I'm not shy to helmets – I ride MTB, Dirt (dual sport Yahama), Street Bikes, and I'm a certified ski and snowboard instructor. I always wear a helmet, and advocate that all others should. The reason I upgraded to this helmet, is my old Protac wasn't MIPS certified, which on my dirtbike helmet that was a huge deal to get, so I figured that I need to follow suit for mountain biking. I have a hard tail and a dual suspension but I don't get too crazy, but after breaking my leg a couple years back on a blue run snowboarding (I'm an experienced backcountry rider, resort double blacks are nothing, was just bombing a groomer and got bit by a snow snake, gash in my board and front flip at 40mph, concussion and broken goggles, my helmet saved me so as mom always said, WEAR A HELMET. Shattered my tibia and fibula but my head was ok..). Basically, I'm a big fan of helmets and have many for every sport, MIPS is what you want and this one is great for the price. The details on this helmet - it looks stylish which I do care about. The visor works and doesn't fall down over my line of sight. The back is adjustable with a click retention system, which I like a lot as I have a big head (New Era Hat Size 7 5/8). On the last click this one fits me securely, you never want a helmet too loose. I've had this a couple months now, and done some longer treks (20mi dirt) and it is comfortable and breathes in the heat, no problem wearing it for hours and doesn't give me a headache so I'm giving this 5 stars, especially given the price for the style and features. I haven't taken a crash on it but like most safety features, you have it and hope you never "need it" - this one is great to me as an active male that lives in the mountains. I highly recommend if you don't get this one, do buy a MIPS helmet - I am replacing all my old ones for this new tech as it's worth it.

Great helmet, with MIPS!
I ride my motorcycles with Bell MIPS technology helmets, why not use them on my ebike?! Great fit, affordable, and MIPS protection.Like they used to say on TV in the 80's, "A brain is a terrible thing to waste", where a good helmet with MIPS technology.

Great protection, useless sun visor
I needed the latest technology to protect myself from head injury, and fortunately, it's come with a reasonable price. I've owned Bell helmets since the 80's. They look better than the competition's designs, too, and that's a big selling point. What I also needed was protection from the sun, so I needed a helmet with a visor. This one has a visor, but I wish it was a little longer. It isn't long enough to shield your eyes & face from the sun. And the visor sits too high up the forehead. To be honest, there isn't a bike helmet visor out there that really does the job. The Bell Soquel's sun visor is just as useless as the competition's. Nevertheless, it's designed well to protect you from head trauma. The only knock I have against it is the useless sun visor.

Super safe and super snug
If you’re looking for a bike helmet for an urban environment I’d suggest getting anything that was the MIPS system. Here’s why it’s important. MIPS goes beyond the typical blunt force to the head a regular helmet protects against. The helmet has a small moving plastic layer that spreads the impact away from one central point.I can vouche for this helmet as it’s saved me once already after I was hit by hit turning a right turn. The helmet made a significant difference when my head hit the ground. I didn’t get a major concussion and I was able to walk up and move away immediately. The helmet provided ample support and protection. I’ve been doing BMX for a while and I know how bad the impact is typically with normal helmets and this lowered the force I felt. I can stand behind the Bell brand as well and tell you that the price you pay is well worth it.The quality of materials inside the helmet, the strap and the outer body are not only durable but light and perfect for biking not only on the road but also mountain terrain.

Great budget helmet, but...
I got this helmet because it was a Thursday, I needed a helmet by Saturday, and this had prime one day shipping available. For the price it seems to be a good helmet. Luckily I haven't taken any shots to the head with it yet, but I will update this review if I do. The padding is definitely on the thin side and there's about as much ventilation as a skateboard helmet (hardly any). If you need to get a helmet in a pinch this is a good choice, but wait for a better one to go on sale if you can. If you have a hard on for Bell the 4forty MIPS is a much better buy when on sale.

Worth the money, did it's job in spades
If it weren't for this helmet, I would have had a much worse day yesterday.Took a quick dirt trail shortcut on my way home from a lunch bikeride. I lost the air in my rear tire at a very poor time and lost the rear of the bike. I went over and it came around, smashing the seatpost in the back of my head at somewhere around10-15 MPH.The result was a fairly mild concussion, I'm pretty much perfectly fine the next day, despite the road rash on my hind quarters. If it weren't for this helmet, it'd be a far worse situation, I'm positive.
