Great palm set for the price. they come sharp and easy to keep sharp with a cloth wheel and compound. I am currently using them on Maple and they work great. Now the tools are a bit thin (compared to Pfeil tools) but I have no complaints.

Beginners paradise
This is an excellent tool set to start your carving life. It has all the basic tools necessary. The tools are made of high carbon steel and they maintain an edge well. It came razor sharp and was good to use out of the box. Flexcut is the best company for making carving tools. I cannot find any negativity with this tool set, only problem is that they did not include a number 7 sweep gouge which is very useful.The tools are very easy to sharpen. I would highly recommend this tool to anyone who has taken up interest in carving.

These tools are amazing. Butter soft carving, great grip, and every gauge I could need.Excellent purchase. Along the sharpening tools, I’m confident I won’t need another set of carving tools in the next 5 years

Great product great company
The gouges & v-tools are very sharp and comfortable to use ! I just ordered the flexcut carving knives and the also are very sharp and easy to carve with. I’m hoping they’ll last a long time!

Never disappoints
Flexcut never disappoints. Was very happy to get these tools. They came sharp and in great condition. The box they come in is very durable.

Nice quality, good value
I like this palm tools. While an odd shape, they fit well in the hand (I wear a medium glove, but have large palms) and hold an edge very well. They're nice to use for small projects . I took off a star because, from what I can tell, the chisels are only held in by glue, and I would prefer if there was something more to keep them on solid. I have gotten around 24-36 hours of use out of them (so far) without issue, using them on bass wood and red cedar. Made in the USA, this is a great set for a beginner and a good value. If you're not sure if you want to get into wood carving, I'd say this is a great place to start for doing small projects.I'd recommend buying the FlexCut SlipStrop polish set to go with it, it makes honing the chisels very easy and quick. Remember, a dull blade is way more dangerous than a sharp one.
