You can't beat it under $200
Short review: I last bought this chair here on Amazon in September of 2018. Now that it is showing wear, I figured something better must exist by now. After trying multiple options, going to box store after box store, I am replacing this chair with the same model in July 2024. Enough said. Long review: I sit at a desk. A LOT. It may actually be the thing I do most with my body these days, even beating sleeping. I work a desk job. I am a PC gamer. I like programming and researching and 3D modeling and editing videos and other desk tasks. Heck, I operate two desks in my home - one for work and one for play. All this to say, I can't own a trash chair. Mediocre chairs? Maybe. While we're on the topic of me: I am a 5'11" 175lbs male. I like to move around in my chair, from normal posture all the way to cross legged and everything in between. Anyways, back to the chair - I bought my first iteration while I was in college. It was on the cheaper side but looked to have a healthy amount of features. I liked a mesh back but wanted a proper cushioned seat. That alone limits things quite a bit. I liked other things about it but at the time didn't fully appreciate them like I do now - I'll come back to them later. I used this chair quite a bit during college and quite liked it. However, come end of 2019, I noticed the arms were splitting. Thankfully there are replacements available even here on Amazon (Search for "Office Chair Arm Rest Replacement Fits All Styles of Arms with Mounting Hole Patterns Screws Set Desk Armrest Cover"). This is the one thing I can knock this chair on, but I put quite a bit of weight on the armrests as I shift around, picking myself up by them. They break because of the material they are made of is relatively soft, which is desirable so that my elbows don't hurt. So, I call this a necessary wear item, like tires on my car. I would replace the arms one more time in 2022, and then again in 2024 when I replaced the whole chair. I started trying other chairs when COVID hit, ~2020. I went from full in-office work to full at-home work, and needed extra desk space. The first chair I tried was trash, I had to buy cushions and all kinds of stuff to make it comfortable. The second chair I tried was okay but quickly wore out. The third chair I tried I still own, it's okay. I've learned a few things through trying all these chairs, but this pattern showed me that I got really lucky when I bought my first chair in college. Office chairs are hard to return - while companies design the components to go into a relatively small box, they don't design all the components to easily come back apart. Fast forward to a couple months ago and back to this chair in question. I noticed that the fabric in the seat was starting to wear - that was happening for a while but now I had worn through it on one side where I sit semi-cross legged (as I'm sitting while typing this) and the side of my shoe digs into the chair. Fabric was gone and the foam inside was exposed, and I was starting to wear a small hole into it. I keep this chair in a room no one sees and so I can get away with some wear, but this was too much. I did a lot of research to find another chair. I watched all the youtube videos about the expensive chairs (which the youtubers obviously get paid to shill), I went to office supply stores and sat in every miserable chair with inflated price tags, I was dejected. However, I remembered that I had success before, so I figured I would try again. I found one here on Amazon with good reviews and ordered it. It was horrible and I was furious. "Why is it so hard to find a good office chair? Why do people have such trash expectations for their chairs? Chairs are not complicated, I should not have to spend half a grand to get a decent chair! If only I had the foresight back when I bought my original chair, I would have bought two and"... and then the thought hit me. Was my chair still available after all these years? Obviously it was. In my joyous fury I malicious-compliance style stuffed the horrible chair back into its box (which could not contain it but I did not care - that's the manufacturer's fault) and promptly returned it to order another one of these. Ladies and gentlemen, after assembling it today, I am happy to report that it has not changed one bit! Oh I cannot tell you how happy I am right now to be seated on this chair. It's such a nice chair, it's my old chair, but it feels brand new, because it is both of those things. Anyways, let me talk about a few other features - reclining options on this are great, you can recline both the back and the seat, independently. What's more is you can recline it and then lock it in at any position you want - so I recline the seat back a little bit and lock it in, and then let the back be on free-recline mode. This feature is wonderful and you won't find it on (m)any chairs at this price point. The arm rests and the back are height-adjustable. I leave the arm rests at their min setting, and the back just above min. As you bring the back up/down, it adjusts where your lumbar is positioned, and there is a very wide range. Also, the seat - its' quite thick, a good balance between firm/soft. The curved overlapping end helps your legs smoothly depart from it towards the floor. Finally, this seat has a wide range of height adjustability, able to get quite high if you need it. Anyways, I live in an apartment, so I don't have the space to store a spare, but if I did I would totally be ordering one. I'm half tempted to replace my "okay" office desk chair with another copy... We'll see.

Bought for all-day use, so far so good
I work from home, and recently decided to upgrade my chair to something with more ergonomic features. I got this chair primarily for the back support as well as the ability to adjust 3 different ergonomic settings: the seat's forward angle, the back's forward angle, and the seat's height from the ground. In this regard, the chair is great. You are able to lock the chair into essentially the perfect position for your body, which was important to me. When the back's adjust lever is locked down, the back does not give at all. It's locked in place. This was a crucial element for me because it provides the back support I need when sitting long hours. This chair delivers that in spades, and so for that alone it was worth the money for me. In terms of the chair's comfort and quality, I would rate it average. It doesn't seem to be made of cheap materials, and everything feels solid once assembled. The mesh seat cover and back are quality and don't feel cheap or like they are likely to tear. One aspect that isn't so great is the wheels. I HIGHLY recommend you also purchase a set of rollerblade wheels for office chairs. This is one of the biggest upgrades you can make to any chair, and solves the problem of this chair's subpar wheels. A set of 6 can be had here on Amazon for under $20 as of this writing. I have only had this chair for a few days, so I will update this review as time passes and comment on quality over time. EDIT: 1-Week Update: Vast improvement over my previous chair. The ability to lock the back in place is crucial for me and this chair has been a delight over the past week. The chair is extremely comfortable for me even after a long work day, sitting for 8+ hours. If it holds up like this for a long duration I will be very pleased with my purchase. EDIT: 6-Week Update: I continue to be impressed and satisfied with this chair. No squeaks, it's not loose anywhere, and the back support is still as strong as the day I put it together. Will update later this year to speak to quality longevity. EDIT: 4-Month Update: I love this chair. It's still just as solid as the day it was put together, and it's so comfortable. This chair has actually spared me a lot of back pain when compared to my previous work from home chair. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for the features I described above. EDIT: 6-Month Update: Still a great chair. There was a little bit of creaking noise, so I got the allen wrench which came with the chair (I always tape mine to the bottom of the seat) and tightened everything up. Now it's like it was new again. I'll update in another year or so. EDIT: 1-Year Update: The chair is still holding up just fine. I am sitting in it as I write this and it's just as sturdy-feeling as the day I got it. At this point I have put something like 3,000 hours of use into the chair (that's about $0.04 per hour at the current price, for the nerds), so I think the fact that it still feels mostly new is a pretty good testament to the overall quality. I have continued to periodically tighten bolts, but this is the minimum maintenance for any long-term furniture. I have to say, this was a great purchase. I have changed my review from 4 stars to 5 given it has held up in this condition as long as it has. EDIT: 1.5 Year Update: I have moved on to another chair, but I will always remember the time we shared together. The chair is still going strong, I just upgraded to an even nicer one. This chair has now been given to someone else and I'm sure it's going to get years more use.

Good chair
I've purchased this chair twice before - once in 2017 and once in 2021 - and I'm ordering it again now in 2025. It falls apart on me after 4 years use. Eventually the armrests crack and the height adjustment won't stay locked - it sinks down gradually until it's at its lowest possible point. Why, then, am I buying it again? Because, when it's working properly, it is the most comfortable chair I've ever owned. I've not found another chair where the tilt of the seat and the back can be adjusted independently. The armrests can be adjusted to the perfect height for me. The seat cushioning is nice. I use this chair a lot - I work from home and spend 10 to 12 hours a day at the computer, so I need to be comfortable. I've tried other, more expensive chairs, and none of them can be adjusted to fit my body like this one. If it only lasted longer, I'd consider it perfect.

Very comfortable, thankful for the tiltable seat!!
Love this chair. Overlooked it in the beginning because lack of padding on the back. I have major back problems including fibromyalgia and I needed a chair that also had the ability to tilt the seat to help keep my lower back in alignment. This chair worked great and is comfortable. It was easy to assemble myself (I’m a 73 yr. Old grandmother) and my only complaint is I wish the wheels were better. I purchased different ones that fit and now it’s perfect!!

Comfortable (It was comfortable at the time of purchase)
Just got this chair. Its lowest point was the highest point on my old chair. So this chair is rather tall when the piston is fully extended. I wish the arm rests were a bit taller but I am a tall man so no stars taken for that. The instructions are rather vague. Nothing but the controls piece was marked. I would prefer if they would actually label each part with a L and R or Front/Rear. I did however have 1 missing washer but I have plenty of those laying about. 6 Month update - The chair will randomly tilt just a little bit, not sure if its in the actual spring mechanism underneath the chair or if the screws are coming loose. I had to re-tighten the screws about once a week when I first got the chair til at least 2 months later. The left arm rest is coming apart, going to use some glue to keep it together. Chair otherwise is still holding up great, I only weight a bit over its limit so its ++ for me. Almost 2 year update. The arm rests have distengrated, I'm forced to buy foam and tape it on. The right arm rest locking mechanism is gone, had to machine some wood to fit underneath it and then locked the arm rest in place with it and a clamp. There is NO cushion left in the seat. The back of the chair no longer locks in the highest position. The chair also likes to rock from side to side and the screws fall out randomly despite how tight you make them. Only upside is the piston hasn't failed yet, tho I'm not using it since its always at its lowest point. 1-18-2021 Update. Looks like the metal pins are warping the metal brackets on the underside of the chair. Likely soon they'll break, the arm rests are about destroyed. I've had to fashion a piece of wood and a clamp to keep the left side up. I am more than satisfied with the chair and I only knock 1 star due to the materials degrading faster than my previous chair. 12-1-2022 Update. Purchased a new chair, same exact one. Only issue is something pierced the package while in transit, caused the styrofoam to explode into fine particles.. I am now 90% made of styrofoam, they are everywhere. Chair otherwise unharmed. 03-10-2026 Update. The chair seat foam has failed. I am sitting on hardwood basically now, my butt is in pain 90% of the time. The arm rests despite putting foam on them do not hold the foam I put on them well. The normal arm rests cut off blood circulation to my arms. The seat of the chair also hinders blood flow to my legs and feet. The seat back no longer stays up where I put it, it slides down within seconds of adjusting it, the tightening device is as tight as it can go. The screws in the base of the chair need to be constantly tightened, they unscrew themselves and fall out. The casters failed early this year, had to replace them. I am 6' 9" 300lbs and this chair did what it was designed to. But it ultimately failed me. Now I have to go elsewhere for a new chair.

Low quality, doesn't hold up over time. Save your money.
I wouldn't purchase this chair again, and don't recommend that you purchase this in the first place. At first glance, the chair seems great - highly adjustable, mesh, and a decent price point. However, don't be fooled - the chair is made out of *very* low quality materials that are not aligned properly and will not hold up over time. My chair was about 3/4" tilted to the left side (i.e. slanted left) which resulted in quite a bit of back/hip pain if sitting for more than 30 minutes or so. Also, the backrest does not stay completely in the position you lock it into - whenever you sit back, it will lean backwards about 1/2" past the point at which you "lock" it in place. Unfortunately, I had mine locked in place at the highest position, so when it titled back there was nothing I could do. Finally, after about a month of use, my chair started to show signs of poor materials - the plastic underneath the armrests started cracking, the metal backing plate underneath the seat had begun to bend, and the chair became a bit wobbly. I made sure the screws were tight and that everything was snug, but it didn't make a difference. If this chair was made out of decent materials and aligned properly, it would be phenomenal for the price. However, since it is essentially a low-quality cheap knockoff, I suggest you look elsewhere. I e-mailed Lexington Modern's customer service about the above issues, but didn't receive a response. I tried calling three times and nobody picked up. At this point I've given up on the chair - I'm out $99 and now I know better than to buy products like this from any other vendor except Amazon. Maybe I just got unlucky, since everyone else seems to be happy with their purchases, but I'm not willing to "try again" and order another once...especially since the price is now double what I paid for it. I definitely recommend going to a store so that you can A) test a chair out before you buy it, and B) return it without having to wait for customer service to send you a prepaid shipping label.

A lot of chair for the money
Update on 9/04/2018 It's been about 14 months now and it's still as great as day 1. No problems. So far (it's been 3 days since assembling and using) I am very pleased with the chair. At first I thought I got a box that had already been opened because the parts were not packed very snugly and I couldn't find the directions to begin with to check that I had all the contents. Checked the hardware box, then finally found the directions underneath the seat cushion. Turns out everything was there and no parts appeared to be damaged. The directions leave a little to be desired - for instance the orientation of the arm rests, which are slightly different in front and back, were not identified in the instructions at all - so I just picked what I thought would work best. Other than that, it was very simple assembly. The biggest question was how much to torque the screws in that hold the arm rests. You can't rock back and forth in this chair, but that's not what I want when sitting at a desk working on the computer. Finally I have some lumbar and back support unlike other cheap chairs that have the back at a permanent lean backwards. This is not a $1,000 ergonomic, fully adjustable chair, but it does get much of the way there. The rollers are very smooth, even on carpet (low pile). Some people complained about the arm rests being flimsy and getting loose or breaking off. Yeah, well if you use them to do pushups on and put all your 300 lbs on them when getting up, well, yeah, they might just snap off - so don't do that. I use the arm rests to rest my arms. All in all I am very pleased with the purchase, but it is early yet. Hopefully I'll remember to come back and adjust this review if there are any major issues. The seat cushion is very comfortable and the mesh is very nice for breathability. The adjustments seem to work very well and seem quite sturdy.

If you weigh too much(>200lbs), might not be the chair for you.
First review of an item on here after buying thousands of things on Amazon. I'm just annoyed by this product is all. I started working a couple days a week from home and bought a desk and this was the chair I decided on after lookin around. I should have looked more: Assembly was pretty easy, it's heavy and the majority of the chair is well built and feels good. The only reason I'm giving this thing 2 stars is because of the arms - I'm about 215lbs and I do put some weight on the arms of all the office chairs I use. After about 3 months of use, both the left and right arms of this product ripped on the inside from the weight I was putting on it. Within 6 months of purchase the inside armrests were completely ripped just from day-to-day use. I'm actually sitting in the chair while I type this, less than a year after purchase, not satisfied at all with the product. I wondered if it was just my unique use of the product but I've used at least 5, if not more chairs at my office job, all for longer than this one, for 8 hours a day 5 days a week, and none of them had any issue like this. My base assessment is that a lot more value and engineering has gone into the core and bottom of the chair while the arms were not designed well, the breaks have occurred as a result of the support from below supporting the outside of the armrest and creating 2-inch overhang towards the inside of the rest. So laying my arms on the rest and picking myself up or applying weight has caused it all to fall on the overhang, which made the soft foam top of the armrest rip. Had the supporting structure been in the middle, or properly widened to fit the width of the armrest, this wouldn't have happened. Very disappointed as otherwise the chair is good, so if you aren't hard on your chairs or don't weigh a lot it's likely you can get more mileage than I have. If you often pick yourself up by the armrests and weight over 200lbs I'd be careful as the armrests don't appear capable of supporting this behavior.

Mala calidad.

Super Comfortable
I wasn't about purchasing this Chair given that I haven't physically tried it... but I have to say this has been a very pleasant surprise. Assembling the chair was straight forward, quality of parts is impressive and the overall comfort is exactly what you would expect from a high end desk Chair.

If I could give this 6 stars I would
My back pain got better within 10 minutes of sitting on this chair. I've been using a really crappy, ancient office chair for two years now and it's done a number on my back; I've had this chair three days now and my back feels better not just sitting in this chair, but in general. The lumbar support is awesome. The ergonomics on this chair, aside from the armrests being a little awkward if you like to lean back a bit when you type, are great. Having the back AND seat tilt be separate and lock/unlockable is so, so nice. The colour is a lot more yellow than the stock pictures show. It's more highlighter yellow than it is green. I love it but would've preferred a more accurate representation on the site. The assembly is simple and straightforward. The seat is just amazing. The waterfall seat with the divots for your legs instead of just being a flat "board" I guess is like sitting on a cloud. However, the mesh on the seat has very deep holes and it's impossible to get little specks of fluff out without vacuuming it. I also wish it could tilt back just a *little* farther, about 5-10° would be great. Those two minor points aside, I'm so happy with this chair I could scream. The ergonomics are on point for the price and, again, my back feels *so* much better. Do yourself a favour and get one if you're in the market. This thing rocks. I'll be posting continuous updates for the next good while cos I don't think 3 days of ownership is enough for a solid review.
