Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolor Paint Tube (Quinacridone, Coral, 15ml)

Amazing paint- goes a long, long way!

This red is absolutely gorgeous on its own. But I still love mixing with it. It is probably my favorite red for mixing. It can produce cool tones and beautiful warm tones. I use it for skin-tones (from the really dark to really light), flowers, abstract paintings. I use it in literally every painting. I LOVE it. I haven't used my Quinacridone Rose as much since I got this color. A must-have in any of my palettes!

Maybe my expectations were too high, but this shade is nothing special. I have about 50 different Daniel Smith colors. Many, like Aussie red gold, made me salivate from the first test swatch. This one, not so much.DS paint is pricey and the options are endless. I wish I'd have chosen a different wish list color this month.

As usual, Daniel Smith watercolor did not disappoint! I have been mixing Pyrrol Scarlet with Rhodonite(both beautiful colors by themselves) to make a coral color. They do make a pretty color, but it doesn’t compare to this Quinacridone Coral. I’m so glad I decided to make this purchase. This color is so vibrant, and has a lovely creamy transparency. It almost glows! It is destined to become an important part of my color palette.The paint tube arrived in pristine condition, sealed in a plastic bag. The paint did not explode from the tube when I loosened the lid, as has happened with other colors in the past. It arrived on time. I will purchase from this seller again. I definitely recommend. I purchased this because I liked the color and had trouble getting just what I wanted when I tried to mix my own. Be aware that this is a "stainer" -- and that is either good or bad depending on what you're doing. After using it a while, I find that I like it for mixing with other colors to add vibrancy. The paint that was sent to me appeared to be fresh, with good packaging and was not flattened during shipping.
