A-Premium Rear Liftgate Lift Supports Shock Struts, 2-Pack

I put these on a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe. One of the OEM shocks had started to fail which meant it wasn't lifting the back entirely. Not quite to the point where it wouldn't go up at all, but certainly lost its "oomph". I snapped off the old ones after loosening the retaining collar, put these new ones in and popped the collar in place, and boom, done. For the install itself, since I didn't have a helper, I used a 2x4 scrap of wood that was long enough to reach from the ground up to the fully extended rear door. At one point I did accidentally bump the wood and dislodged it but since I was doing just one at a time, the force of the door hitting me on the head wasn't too bad. :) Just be smart about it and have someone assist by holding the door up or do a better job than I did of propping it in place, and do one at a time "just in case". The new ones have been working great. Less noisy than the old ones, I think, and they do a full extension to raise the door all the way unlike the old ones so they're handling the load just fine.

I installed these about two years ago and they are still working well I also bought a set for my rear hatch also still working well. It lifts very well, the fit is very good it's definitely good value for your money.

Great product! A 6ft step ladder & a couple wooden blocks put the door at the perfect height to install the struts. Put a little grease on the balls that hold the struts in place. Also the clips on the new struts don't have to be moved as the struts snap right on in place.

Have been working great. Pretty easy to install and I'm not terribly handy. Great value for the money.

I've bought these twice now and they work well for about 1-2 years it seems before they start to lose their lift power. I figure for the price it's not a terrible replacement part just know it will eventually quit lifting the tailgate after a while. Not sure if it's the hot and cold weather we have in Nebraska that effects it or if it's just a time and quality thing.

Exactly as advertised, shipped quickly, installed easily. These struts hold my hatch at the high limit, and don't fade after being opened. PERFECT....

Much less expensive than purchasing the hatch lift supports from auto part stores. I found that I could purchase a set for the same price as what those stores would charge for one of the supports. Took me a little time to determine how to take off the old ones. The new ones installed with ease. Now my vehicle no longer sounds like Chewbacca when I open the back hatch. :)

Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. The struts arrived on time, were very simple to install, sold at a price mush less than the OEM part sold at the dealership and they work well. It fit my Hyundai Santa Fe Sport perfectly. It took about 5 mins to install both sides using only a small screwdriver. I installed it about a week ago and I find that when I open the tailgate I have to hang on to it because the tailgate tends to open during the last part of its swing with a little too much umph, I assume that after short break in period this will soften up a bit and open fully a little more gently. I would suggest that the supplier include some instructions with the struts. Since installation is so easy the instructions would require little effort to write and along with a diagram would not take more than a single page. Although installation was a snap, anything requires some explanation the first time one tries. Failing the existence of any written instructions, there are some good videos showing how to install these struts on YouTube. PS It has now been 2 weeks since I installed the struts and as I thought they now open very smoothly and without any excess umph

These fit perfectly on our 2007 Hyundai Santa fe and the install was super easy, under 3 minutes for both. The shocks feel like good quality, and for the price they cannot be beat, this is the price for both. We actually got some from the dealer then returned them. For the price of 1 from the dealer, I can buy 3 pairs of these. Definitely worth it.
