Getting Out of Hand (Sapphire Falls Book 1) - Kindle edition by Nicholas, Erin. Romance Kindle eBooks @ desertcart.com. Review: Olivia Cunning fans will appreciate the hero's quirks! - When I first picked up "Getting Out Of Hand" I expected a light escapist read that would take me out of reality for a few hours. It definitely did that but I wasn't expecting to get fully engrossed in the sexy characters and the steamy romance! Mason and Adrianne meet coincidentally on his trip to his hometown for a reunion. He was somewhat of a nerd in school, closed off and kept to himself. A little shy, so he was looked at as different. Now he's a brilliant and wealthy scientist, who works with the White House for his conservation efforts and he's back (reluctantly, at the behest of his best friend Lauren) to show everyone how awesome he is. His original intention is to stick it to the girl who humiliated him back in the day but ends up meeting out-of-Towner Adrianne and sparks fly between the pair. A whirlwind courtship and a land deal on the skids are just some aspects that arise to challenge the MC's to find a way to work things out. I didn't expect to fall in love with these characters but I did! Mason especially. He may have been a nerdy young man, with a little of that awkwardness carrying over into his adulthood, but the man was absolutely SEXY! Not only was he smart but he had the charm and charisma that will make your panties melt. He isn't able to shut off his brain and discovers Adrianne to be his muse so when things get heated he isn't able to restrain himself from writing down his theories and equations.... ON HER! I haven't come a across a hero who writes on his lady love since I read "Backstage Pass" by Olivia Cunning. Just like with Mason, her hero also wrote his musings on a lover and it had the same effect on me then as I had with this book. VERY HOT! Adrianne was a great heroine and someone who you could look up to. After a serious health scare she woke up and started taking care of herself so she moved to Mason's hometown to escape the everyday stresses of a busy Chicago life. I loved her spunk and tenacity. She went after what she wanted and spoke her mind. One of her best qualities was how well she understood Mason and how much she appreciated him for who and what he was and didn't just chase him for his good looks and wealth. She actually listened and cared for him and it endeared her character to me. Ok, so...they may have had a bit of a quick romance (Mason's only in town for a few days) but for me it didn't really feel like insta-love because they actually got to know each other on a deeper level during his visit so it felt organic for things to move along by the end of the story. Some people may be put off by it but they had such a great connection in such a short time I found it to be wholly believable and therefore I loved the book. The secondary characters who helped Mason and Adrianne out along the way were a fantastic addition to the story. Adrianne's friend Phoebe was mouthy and fun to see come into the picture. I'm looking forward to her story being next. Mason's best friend Lauren was a bi-sexual powerhouse of a woman who added some sexy and surprising moments to the story. I found myself wanting more from her even though I don't usually get hot and bothered by F/F action. I think I'd switch teams for her. She was great! Sometimes FREE books are hit or miss with me and from what I've seen for most readers. I was very pleased with "Getting Out Of Hand" and will be buying the next books and diving right into the coming stories ASAP. If you want an engaging escape with amazing chemistry between the main characters and you can handle a little heat in your stories then Erin Nicholas won't disappoint you with this one. Review: Getting Out of Hand by Erin Nicholas - I love when a freebie ends up being the beginning to a new favorite author. What a gem! The Good: I love small town romances. This one is set in the quaint (yet fictional) town of Sapphire Falls, Nebraska. Being from the Midwest I love when a book is set in my neck of the woods. So double pluses for this book! I also love me some genius nerd boys! Mason fits the bill to a T. Super smart, socially awkward but so endearing and charming and don't forget he grew up hot too! (please forgive my excessive usage of exclamation points...I'm just super excited for this book!!!) In addition to many charming characters and quaint setting the romance is sweet and the sexy bits are hot. Adrianne + Mason + Jar of Caramel = well you get the picture. Both characters are equally amazing. Both have strengths and flaws and Nicholas did an amazing job of creating the prefect balance between the two. The Bad: I think the sexual orientation of Mason's best friend was dwelled on for a bit longer than necessary. We never take up pages explaining someone is straight so to do so for a bi-sexual character seemed a bit much. In Nicholas' defense (I'm playing both sides right now....bi-sexual pun intended LOL) the fact that she likes women was presented in a couple of scenes later on and the early explanation prepared the reader for those. I just want to make myself clear here....I am in no way complaining about a bi-sexual character. I am complaining about treating her introduction to the book in a different way than a straight character would have been introduced. In a Nutshell: I really enjoyed this book so much and am looking forward to reading more from Erin Nicholas. Plus this book is still being offered for free on desertcart! Why haven't you tried out Sapphire Falls yet? Favorite Quote: “Why do you care so much?” he asked. “You haven’t been here long.” She looked up at him with a thoughtful expression. “Home isn’t about time,” she finally said. “It’s about where you feel good and can be yourself.”

Loved the characters and story. It was different and kept me reading until 3 in the morning. I am going straight to reading the next book in the series. Can't wait to get to know the folks in Sapphire Falls better.

Roman sympa qui vous laisse avec le sourire aux lèvres. Le héros est un génie qui ne s'est jamais senti "normal" et l'héroïne va, évidemment, l'aimer tel qu'il est. Je vous le recommande chaudement.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Mason is so endearing and I love how Adrianne just seems to ‘get’ him! Some lol moments, some steamy sexy times and a HEA

A lovely plot and nice characters, couple of things are quite unbelievable like whole of sapphire falls bachelor had dated mayor, Adrianne left a high stress high profile job and then again went to same kind of job (high level PR) for love without Mason being aware of it!! Just suspend your intellectual analysis and read it just like that - A nice love story....
