Not Digging!
So far I am not "digging the Digger". I laid out 75 feet of line in 30 feet of water with a rocky bottom but the digger wouldn't dig and just kept dragging. instructions say don't use a chain lead but I may try anyway.Update 9/15- I attached a 4 foot chain lead to help the anchor lay down and it seems to help

3 Star Review
This anchor claims to hold boats and with the simple tug of your rope, the anchor is released due to a spring mechanism. While it does work great sometimes, over time this anchor has rusted and the spring mechanism inside does not operate well anymore thus making it useless. The anchor is strong for the most part but if large waves are coming at your boat, it will act similar to your tug on the rope and it will come undone. I was camping in a cove and someone was surfing behind a boat and the surf waves undid the anchor and my boat washed up on shore. Not very cool. My boat is only 19ft long and I felt, based on the description, this anchor should have held it. I am currently in the market for a new anchor.

First time use
I have only used it once to test it. I have a small pontoon that I use to spend nights on and I carry a 12 foot V-bottom aluminum boat with me to trotline fish. With mostly rock bluffs and rocky shore lines on Bull Shoals Lake I need a reliable anchor so I can leave the pontoon and not have it drift off while I fish in the small boat. I dropped the anchor in 25 feet of water with a mud bottom in a light wind and the boat stayed put without the slightest worry. I haven’t gotten the anchor stuck on any debris to test out the spring release but when I do I will update this comment. I will also update when I have set anchor under stronger wind conditions which I encounter on a regular basis. So far I will give it 5 stars.

Works great
I was in the market for a new anchor. I have a 19 foot ski boat. Had a hard time getting other anchors to catch. This one works perfectly. No chain needed. A nice tug and the claw collapses for easy retrieval.

Great for muddy bottom lakes!
We have a 22 foot Pontoon, and the anchor that came with it just wouldn't hold our boat on a windy day.The bottom of our lake is very murky and muddy, so a traditional anchor just didn't work. But this anchor will hold our boat in position; as long as you use enough rope it really digs into the mud.

Anchor doesn't hold
Anchor releases FAR too easily and you end up dragging the anchor while you drift.

great price on a great anchor
This thing is fantastic. It holds in windier conditions than I want to be out in a boat.. in. I have a 16' skiff and fish mostly 20,000+ acre reservoirs. Amazon has the best price I've ever seen or heard of.
