Works like it should
I am in the third year of using my solar ionizer. I purchased it from Costco and I've saved lots of money not needing to continually add chemicals. However, I clean my copper EVERY week brushing it with a steel brush. The first copper lasted an entire year and you could see how it worked by how much it was depleted in that year's time. Then I bought replacement copper from another company and I did a review where I stated, they did not wear like the original copper even though they stated it was 99% pure copper. I will not purchase from them again. The wear wasn't the same. Aside from that, I don't know how people can say it's too expensive and not cost effective. Have you seen the price of chlorine tablets? Crazy! Not to mention the cost of the other chemicals you have to add year round. I wouldn't go back to not using my solar ionizer. I feel it is well worth the time it takes to clean it once a week to keep it working at it's best.

Replacment parts WAY over complicated
I bought a Lumiere Ionizer. I l have been looking for 30 minutes to locate and purchase the copper Anode that fits this ionizer. (it comes with 2) After 8 months of use the pool looks GREAT. However!!! when it comes time to replace the copper anode the correct one is NO where to be found. Long story short DO NOT BUY LUMIERE! DO buy an ionizer that has replacement parts readily available without having to buy extra parts or search through endless sites to little or no avail. Ionizers work FABULOUSLY! I swear by it. In AZ. through 100 degree + days all summer with NO algae what so ever and only using 1 3" chlorine tab per 2 weeks and acid to reduce alkalies and scale 16oz. per 2 weeks in a 16K gal. pool. Water is Crystal Clear!
