Crispy is the best description
Love the crispy onion. Great for salads and to dress up dips. Have been buying the small one at our local supermarket, but this big bag lasts and stays flavorful and crisp to the last morsel in the bag.

We love this stuff
We stumbled on this product at our local "big box" store and fell in love with the product. It tastes fantastic, and as a topping or even a hand snack, they are a nice addition. Our local store stopped carrying it, but we were able to get it for the same price through Amazon. This company makes other items and we ordered a sample pack to try four others. All of them are just as good. We use it on a lot of stuff. On baked potatoes it adds a nice crunch. In soups it livens things up.

Lightly salted! And a really big bag.
The French's version of these is an American classic garnish, but it is sooo salty! When I saw these, and read somewhere that both brands were owned by the same parent company, I decided to take a chance. I say chance because such a low price for something like this often means poor quality at least. The only complaint I have, and the reason I took off one star, is that most of the contents were broken. Not good but the smaller pieces will make a good addition to crumb toppings/coatings and could be good on a baked potato or a tuna sandwich. This bag and a 4 oz. measuring cup were the only things shipped in a box about 30" x 18". There was minimal crumpled paper, as well, but not nearly enough to keep the contents from being banged around a lot. There's no way to tell if the onions were broken before shipping, but so many broken pieces is not what I had in mind. Also contributing the loss of one star is that fact that this resealable bag does not reseal. Fortunately, I have an airtight container that will fit the largish bag and its contents. It is a really big bag, too. Really big. I saw the weight -- 1.5 pounds, but wasn't really thinking about what volume that much product would occupy. This is not really a drawback, but be aware that you're going to get a lot of crispy onions if you choose these. For the price, even with the broken pieces, it's still a good product and worth the cost.

Very tasty, palm oil free, and great price!
If you love Good and Gather crispy onions, you will love these. They taste so much better than the other brands, and they are made without palm oil! The bag is huge, so the price is really low for such a great product!

These are a great price and go with so many dishes.
They are great on salads, burgers and even as soup toppers! They are not just for green bean casserole, anymore, but they are also great that way.

Way better than French's -- here's why
Fried onions are awesome, not just to as toppings on green beans or in salads, but sometimes just to munch on like potato chips! I had been purchasing the classic French's, and decided to try these instead. And wow -- these are so much better, the difference is like night and day! Here's why: 1) French's is *way* too salty. Look, I love salty snacks, but eating French's by itself, after a few bites is like, wow this is crazy salty. I checked the labels and French's has 4x the salt of Fresh Gourmet -- 60 mg per 7 grams, as opposed to 15 mg. That's insane! That makes it 40% saltier than Lay's potato chips, which have 43 mg of sodium per 7 grams. And Lay's are already basically at the max of how salty you want snacks to be. 2) French's seems greasier, both in appearance and in touch and in taste. Fresh Gourmet just seems lighter, I don't know if they shake off more of the oil after frying before bagging or what. Fresh Gourmet seems like the right amount of oil, while French's just seems heavy with it. 3) French's is full of "dust" and tiny pieces. Kind of like at the bottom of the cereal bag you have the cereal dust? French's is like that, but there's dust throughout it. Whereas Fresh Gourmet doesn't have any dust at all, the whole bag is just normal-sized fried onion pieces. Which kind of makes me curious why they're different like that? I think part of the explanation for 2) and 3) is that the Fresh Gourmet pieces seem to be a bit thicker and more substantive. So maybe the French's absorb more oil because they're thinner, and then break apart into little pieces and dust because they're thinner. So I'd definitely go with these, and I'm happy I can buy this large bag on Amazon since my local grocery stores only carry the much smaller bags. I wish they were even cheaper, but they still work out to about the same price as Lay's potato chips in the supermarket, by weight, so I can't really complain.
