Straightforward installation. Just be aware that different hardware revisions of the PS4 DualShock 4 use different part numbers (and wildly different boards) for the same function. Thankfully I had already opened mine before ordering to ensure I purchased the right one.

My controller is in pretty good shape, aside from the failed charging port. I stumbled across this part and gave it a go, you can install this in 3-5 mins, extremely simple and it works perfect. Just take your controller apart before ordering so you get the right port as there's a few different ones. Fix your controller for a fraction of the price of a new one.

The parts malfunction after about 3 months of use, but it is cheaper than buying a new controller.

Worked perfectly on the first try. The entire repair took less then 10 minutes. Obviously, make sure you get the right one for your version of controller. I disassembled my controller before ordering because the model number was worn off the bottom of the controller. There are lots of good videos about this replacement. Watch one, so you don't do it wrong. The only con I see with this chip so far is that the LED light has slightly different colors (what used to be amber when charging is now a lighter yellow for example). This is nothing, and I will not subtract from the score for it....

Replaced the charging port as the old port was old and worn, to the point that the controller no longer charged. PC board fit perfectly. The ribbon cable that came with the port was too long. That extra 1/2 inch made the installation easier, but more difficult to route. Reused the old ribbon cable and the controller charges fine.

Pros: Very easy to install. It comes with 2 new boards, 2 cables and a screwdriver. I like the new boards because they have latches for the the ribbon cables rather than just pulling out or pushing in. Charge lights acted a little weird when I first tested it, but it does in fact work. It charges the controller and lets you use it as a wired controller (the reason I needed a replacement). Cons: The new board doesn't fit perfectly. It was a little hard to set in, and the port doesn't fit perfectly (see picture). It's not offset enough to cause issues plugging it in. It's definitely worth it, especially over getting a brand new controller.

I bought the two pack of JDS-055 ports to replace the OEM JDS-055 port because the original was worn to the point that the cable fit loosely so I had to wiggle it around a bit in order for it to successfully charge. I installed one of the new ports and then connected a cable to try charging. No LED indicating that it was charging, but I left the cable on it for a couple of hours to see if it actually charged despite no LED indicating it was. Checked after a couple of hours, controller powered on but PS4 confirmed it did not charge. I took the port off and tried the second new one. Immediately after connecting the second one, the charging ribbon got too hot to touch so I disconnected it. Tried the first new one again, didn't get immediately hot but still did nothing trying to charge the battery. I have a second controller, so I tested each of the new ports on it and same results, including one making the cable too hot to touch. Tried using the working, OEM port from second controller on the controller I'm repairing and it doesn't work. Also tried the OEM port that I was trying to replace, and with normal cable wiggling as before, it now no longer works. So my conclusion is that the new ports I bought not only didn't work, but they damaged other components of my controller so that now it will not charge at all. I believe that these ports are defective and potentially dangerous given how hot the charging ribbon gets. FYI I tested charging my second controller with all of its original parts and checked the ribbon while it was charging, and it did not get hot or even warm while charging. Something is definitely wrong with these replacement ports.

Questa piccola scheda di ricambio (nel kit ne vengono fornite due) permette di risolvere il problema della mancata ricarica della batteria nel controller PS4. Funziona perfettamente e scegliendo il modello corretto è identica all'originale e si inserisce perfettamente al suo posto. Fate molta attenzione quindi ad ordinare il modello giusto; la sigla della scheda da ordinare la trovate stampigliata su quella originale. Devo dire che il prezzo Amazon è caro, si trova anche a meno della metà, tuttavia il fatto di ricevere in 24/48H due schedine corredate entrambe di cavetto flat e di un piccolo cacciavite può a mio avviso giustificare il prezzo. Volendo, se non troppo stropicciato, si può ricollegare il cavetto flat originale. La riparazione non presenta particolari difficoltà per chi ha un minimo di praticità in queste attività, tuttavia le dimensioni miniaturizzate dei componenti e dei connettori possono causare un po' di difficoltà. Chiudo facendo notare che nel connettore del cavetto flat della schedina di ricambio, a differenza dell'originale, c'è una minuscola barra di plastica che va chiusa a mo' di ferno dopo aver inserito il cavetto flat in posizione. Non dimenticatela altrimenti il cavetto si sfila.
