Not Happy
I'm a professional drummer and percussionist with very busy work schedule and I used LP products for years and never had a problem with there instruments..I purchased this LP 1500 Cajon pedal in Nov.of 2015 because it seem to be the best pedal available ..I kept it in the box until I recently return from being on tour, I did a 45min.rehearsal with it for a upcoming show and it worked fine,,but while in the middle of my performance at this major show the cable broke..totally screwed my gig..brand new and I couldn't get one gig out this pedal..what the F#*#...now I hope I can get my money back or a new replacement pedal..I hope we can resolve this issue..or it's 150.00 dollars down the drain..thanks LP and Amazom.

LOVE the pedal, even with cable issues
In theory, this pedal is a perfect solution for playing bass on the cajon. When adjusted and positioned correctly, the pedal is a dream to play. The easy wrap on the leather(ette?) beater creates an excellent acoustic slap. The only issue is with the cable breaking. If played with a heavy foot, the cable won't last long. It breaks at the tightest point in the curve over the cam at the beater end. Even with easy playing it will eventually break. Fortunately the guys at LP (Drum Workshop) provided excellent service and got a replacement cable to me very quickly. When replacing the cable, it helps to know something about drum pedals. Even though changing the cable is very easy, it might not be easy to figure out if you've never done it before. It helps to have a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the broken cable end piece out from the pedal chain. I've had to replace the cable twice, but dang it I LOVE THIS PEDAL. It inspires me when as a keyboard player I can add a bass rhythm that changes instantly with my timing dynamics. No drum machine could ever do that. I also understand that the pedal design is being updated. I look forward to that. In the mean time, even with the possibility of the cable breaking, I will enjoy playing the LP cajon pedal, and much appreciate the excellent service from the LP service department at Drum Workshop. You go guys!

Works well!
I was hesitant to purchase based on some complaints about the connection wire breaking, but I'm a relatively light player so I figured I would give it a shot. Overall, it sounds great, has a decent response, and has held up to my moderate use. I think I heard that the hardware has been upgraded in newer versions, which would make sense. This will never be quite as fast and responsive as a direct-drive petal, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how responsive it is for a cable. The sound from the mallet is solid, meaty, and at a good volume. I wanted a super quiet kit, so I've added a layer of studio foam between the petal and the cajon, and that works well for me - the petal still cuts through the foam well too.

Great yet horrible
Easily the best cajon pedal available....but, like stated in every other review, the cable will break at the worst possible time. While on tour and playing a massive outdoor festival in Seattle, midway through our 3rd song I feel and hear....'SNAP'.....and my leg goes limb. Worst feeling of your life as a musician. I'm looking into replacing the cable at a bike shop as suggested by a previous reviewer. If this cable issue can be fixed, this product would be an all time favorite and I would be able to recommend it to everyone, but as of now, there are many faults that need addressed.

Works exactly as hoped. I look forward to using ...
Works exactly as hoped. I look forward to using this with the cajon as a bass drum for smaller venues. Using this while playing the cajon conventionally takes some getting used to as it takes up so much real estate for the batter head. A little experimentations, however, and Voila!

LP took their time and came up with the best solution - get it while its on sale.
I just got back from using this for the first time. I'm very happy with it. First the beater is innovatively designed specifically for the cajon. It gives a nice bass stattaco pop. I play alot of gigs in which the theater is small and the singers aren't always mic'ed - so the drummer isn't going to be mic'ed. The cajon pedal solves pit orchestra size problems and also sound balancing. The ability to move the cajon off the plate easily so you can play the cajon more traditionally is another bonus. This allows you to tilt the instrument back - the other cajon pedal out there attaches the plate with a contraption that a) takes time to remove and b) will not allow you to lean back or easily disattach the beater. My biggest problem with the other cajon pedal (from Gibraltar) is that the cable was shittily designed and adjustments were counter-intuitive. The mechanism also kept slipping so eventually you had to stop playing and fix it. It was basically unworkable. I don't know if I got a defective unit but it appeared from comments on Internet customer reviews that others had the same problem. I plan to use the pedal tonight for a small jazz club gig and will update this review if I have any problems or may change my rating to five stars if it holds up over extended use. I plan to use it again in the coming weeks in another pit orchestra / small theater sceanrio.

Excellent cajon pedal.
The Cajon pedal is superb. Very well built and will give you the kick you expect. I went down to my local hardware store and picked up a 3x5 bit of carpet sample to use under both so they don’t creep. But I feel that this was the right choice to make for the pedal.
