## Description

Product Description

Review: Great watch and great price. - I bought this Invicta Automatic copy of the Rolex Submariner back in July 2018 on an desertcart Black Friday Sale. It still runs well and looks great but I primarily wear it as a dress watch. I like its glass back to show the watch’s mechanism. I’ve gone SCUBA Diving to 98’ with it off the NC coast. No problems. It has remained accurate to about 5-10 seconds/month. I store it on a nice wood auto-winder and wear it about twice a month for a day or two. I am sure if this was a daily wear watch with my active lifestyle. It would perhaps begin to wear the gold color off the band and the watch itself and would probably scratch up the Crystal. But I wanted it to be my nice looking analog watch so I could wear something besides an Apple iWatch Ultra 3. It has exceeded my expectations for the price.
Review: Starter Watch - This review is based in the fact that this is an entry level watch. It is a "homage" style that mimics the looks of more expensive, luxury brands such as Rolex and Omega. I cannot stress this enough - it is simply NOT the same quality as you would expect with those brands. But, don't worry because THAT IS PERFECTLY FINE if you are just honest with yourself about this basic fact. Invictas are great starter watches, especially if you are just getting into collecting and still trying to figure out what particular style you like or prefer. You can get some decent wrist time with something that looks functionally similar to the higher end brands which will let you hone your personal style choices without having to drop the big bucks just yet. There are a few annoying things about Invictas that you will have to be able to get over. If these are a major hangup for you try a slightly different brand in the $100 to $300 range. The bracelet is just OK and the crystal is fine but is going to get scratched for anything other than office type wear. The branding is also a big turnoff for some. (Really do they need to inscribe "INVICTA" in a large font on the side of every single watch???) Also, because these are widely available and usually on sale it has absolutely no resale value. Outside of maybe selling it to a friend for $5-$10 don't expect to be able to recoup anything from a secondary market sale. However, the movements are actually pretty good and build quality is decent especially at this price point. Just if it breaks be reconciled to the fact that it is going to get put in the junker. If you can get past these few detractors then you will probably be happy enough with the purchase. Bottom line - buy this because you like the appearance and need either a starter or "beater" watch. It will serve those purposes well. If you are looking for something beyond this try a Seiko or Citizen which is probably going to be a closer value match.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is the back of the watch clear - that is can you see the movement?**
A: Yes, over the last two months I have purchased three. The packaging was different, with two just wrapped around a soft pillow, and the first one had proper factory packaging, but all three watches are identical with clear backs that show the movement.

**Q: What is the difference between 8926OB and 17044 ? Which is the better one ?**
A: The 8926OB has straight indicese at 6 and 9 while the 17044 has round ones. The band width on the 8926 is 20mm while 18mm on the 17044. The case thickness on the 8926 is 11mm while 14mm on the 17044.17044 is a newer model (jan 2014) and the 8926OB is 2006 (with a new version in 2011). Also, the 17044 lists a "stopwatch" as a special feature.

**Q: Can enough links be removed to accommodate a 6.5" (approx.) wrist?**
A: Yes. I have a 6.25" wrist, and had to remove all but one link. So for a 6.5" wrist, removing all but 2 should be fine. The respondent above who said the links are graduated in size is mistaken. All the _removable_ links are the same size.

**Q: Wht is the difference between 8927 and 8927ob. watch please**
A: There is no number "10" on 8927's bezel and has a smoother edge comparing with 8927OB's. The "OB" model's bezels looks 'exact the same' as Rolex Submariner Date's.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No Better Watch for the Money.
*by M***T on February 24, 2014*

I received this watch about a week ago, and I want review it with my initial impressions. I also plan to update this review as necessary in the future. First things first, I want to avoid comparing this watch to a Rolex Submariner as much as possible, but for some obvious reasons, that won’t be entirely possible. The Pro Divers look nearly identical to Submariners so that is the primary reason that a Rolex comparison cannot be entirely avoided. But realistically, I doubt that anybody in the world has ever narrowed their purchasing decision down to a choice between a Rolex Submariner and an Invicta Pro Diver. I bought this watch, not instead of a Rolex, but rather because I aspire to a Submariner. My Dad has a Rolex, and let’s be honest, the Rolex Submariner is a far superior watch in every way. Simply put, a Rolex Submariner is 10 times the watch that a Pro Diver is. But, in defense of Invicta, a Submariner is 100 times the price of a Pro Diver. I think that any further comparison of the two watches is kind of pointless. My first impression of the watch is that it is very high quality for the price. The case is stainless steel with a screw-down exhibition back. The band is very sturdy with solid stainless steel links. However, the end links are hollow but I don’t see this as compromising the bracelet very much. The clasp is adequate, but I don’t feel that it is up to the same standard as the rest of the watch, it feels a little cheap by comparison. All in all though, it is a very sturdy watch. The bezel feels to be very good quality. It is 120 clicks but it is a bit stiff. That is not such a bad thing for me as I doubt that I will ever do any serious diving with it. The screw down crown is pretty good and definitely seals the case well. I have showered with this watch and submerged it in a couple feet of water with absolutely no problem. I see no evidence of water inside the case. I doubt that I will shower or swim with the watch too much as I am not sure how the gold plating will hold up to soap or chlorine. On that note, the gold plating seems pretty good but only time will tell how durable it is. When setting the date and time, I will say that the crown feels a bit gritty. But again, for the price I am not really complaining. The crystal is pretty good and the cyclops is OK. Not very dramatic magnification, in fact I could do without the cyclops altogether. The movement is a Seiko NH35A, 24 jewel automatic. I am not very familiar with this particular movement but I have read pretty good reviews. My experience with it so far is that it is extremely accurate. After a few days I have found it to be within 2-4 seconds per day of the atomic clock. The first three or four days I noticed that it was dead on all day while wearing it, but at night when I took it off and placed it on the dresser it would pick up about 4 seconds. Now, after about a week, it remains dead on all day while wearing it and only picks up a second or two at night. I understand that the mainspring needs a little time to “break-in” and I suppose that is what is happening. Even if I had the movement calibrated I doubt that it will get any closer than 2 seconds a day. That kind of accuracy for an automatic movement is pretty good even by high end Swiss standards. After one week my assessment is this: For less than $100 you are not going to find a better watch! It seems durable and utilitarian without sacrificing aesthetics. It is stylish and gets compliments without being loud or ostentatious. I really have only good to say about this watch and this is mainly due to its quality to cost ratio. If this watch cost $1000 this would be a very different review, but at around $100 you will not find a better watch! Update: I have been wearing this watch, on average, about 4 days per week for about four years now and I still only have positive things to say about this watch. It has held up very well both in terms of functionality and appearance.
