You will learn that 70% of innocent people immediately give up their constitutional rights when they start answering the cops questions -- guilty persons are going to say "get me a lawyer" immediately. So, the officer stops you and asks "do you know why I'm stopping you?".Do NOT answer, this is a lose-lose question and by answering it you have completed step one of giving up your right to silence. Your response should be, "Why did you stop me, officer?". Followed by "Am I being detained? Am I free to go now?" thenkeeping your yap shut -- under all conditions. Also, includes some good pointers to on-line videos of the correct way torespond to being stopped by the police, including pushing the auto-lock button (locking the doors on your car) when theofficer tells you to step outside. I loved this text! This book is a practical guide to the Reid Technique. The book is well written, concise, and easy to understand. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning about the Reid technique and how to use it.

This book serves as a great tool to maintain the REID interview and interrogation skills. I got this book along with another two books that are REID-related and they're all I'll ever need when I want to spin myself up on this extremely useful technique.

This is a really good book, is easy to read, is informative, and does a good job going through the process of interviews and interrogations.

The Reid technique uses tactics that gain confessions - false or true. Independent research has actually demonstrated that innocent individuals who trust the legal system are more likely to confess to a crime they did not commit due to their trust that the legal system will find them innocent. Unfortunately research on juries has shown that juries believe confessions even when physical evidence demonstrates the innocence of the confessor. As an expert in thought reform, I also see similarities in the Reid technique and the tactics used by radical terrorists to recruit new members for acts of suicidal terror.

Even if you aren't a student, if you're in a profession where you need the cut through people's bs, this is the resource you need. Very effective.
