hEX POE lite Exactly What I Needed
I needed a router to provide power over Ethernet (POE) for several devices at the far end of a 5.6 GHz WiFi link. The hEX POE lite proved to be plug-and-play in my application. I have tried to ping the devices from a near-end R-Pi computer. The ping works but the Route Report does not show the data link or the hEX POE. It's like the connection was through a piece of CAT5 cable to the several devices at the far end. Perfect! I believe the hEX POE lite does not have either 2.4 or 5.5 GHz WiFi radios.

Great Software
I like this router. The software is very nice and something I had never tried before. The PoE works, but not for my AP so I bought a cheap switch to power it. Wish it would power my AP, but for the price I would say it's still pretty solid.

Very good product
Mikrotik is well known for good products. The user interface very easy to use.

Inconsistent, unreliable, unstable OS. Poor documentation.
I can’t believe all the praise this brand gets. The documentation is useless, it tells you *how* to do something, without explaining what a feature *does*. Every brand has their own terminology for features, so as a vendor you need to explain yours. For example, there’s a default bridge configured in the system, yet the instructions tell you to setup a new bridge with no mention of the default bridge - why? They never explain their approach, you’re left to intuit the default bridge is for the external interface to internal interfaces. They also never explain which interface that is - is it zero or 1? The biggest problem is accessing the router during setup or config - it just decides to become inaccessible for no reason *during setup*. Once configured, after being on for a couple days, it becomes unresponsive. You can’t access it via a browser, or their own tools in Windows or Android. It doesn’t even respond to pings. This is just unacceptable. These devices have to “just work”. I have a Linksys router from 2006, nearly 20 years old, that works better.

Does not provide PoE
I plugged in my PTZ camera and it did not power it up.

Only 100mbps. Or maybe this is the replacement I bought that does 1gbps. I forget.
