Good item, provides adequate surveillance
Good item, provides adequate surveillance. Easy to use with WiFi and smart device.Only app/software suggestion I would make is allow multi-user simultaneous use of viewing. A split screen with multiple camera view would be great.

Good video complement to an existing home security system
My objective in buying the Swann product was to add video capability to my existing home security system. Previously I had tried Netgear's Vuezone system, a potentially excellent product but currently with inferior cameras.PROS:* Very easy set-up* Excellent wireless camera with very good color clarity and adjustable frames per second* Product appears to be well built* Good night visibility* Motion detection range is good. Captured images are uploaded to the cloud (optional fee). Provides a free 30-day trial of cloud support for each camera that is added.* Audio can be switched on or off* Mobile access* The iPhone SwannSmart application is pretty good and allows the user to control all functions of a camera remotely; however, you must have a strong wireless connection. Cellular connections, even with a strong signal on Verizon's LTE, may not always allow remote changes.CONS:* Cameras require AC power which limits their placement. If Netgear's VueZone improves its camera, which is completely wireless, they will become a very strong competitor to Swann* Each camera is completely independent. If multiple cameras are installed, each one must be controlled separately.* If you want to utilize motion detection you must have cloud support. Cloud support is priced at $59 per year PER CAMERA. This fact is NOT CLEAR in their marketing material. I have 3 Swann Cameras and would have bought more if Swann offered some type of volume pricing or a flat fee for cloud support.* I'm uncertain as to the quality of technical support. I called once and was put on hold and told I was number 2 in the queue. However, after waiting for approximately 10-minutes, a recording came on and told me to leave a message and a number and my call would be returned. I thought this was pretty bad support.* The motion detection is super sensitive and, even when on low settings, is activated for no apparent reason. The result of this will be a large number of "events" (instances when the camera thinks it detects motion). For this reason you will likely not want to use "e-mail alerts". They will drive you crazy. Additionally, the delete procedure for "events" is cumbersome and time consuming. The best approach may be to not manually delete "events" as Swann says it automatically deletes events which are 30-days old.OVERALL:I've now had the product for several months. I am generally happy with the quality of the product and it's ability to meet my objective as a complement to my existing security system. I would recommend this product.

Worst purchase ever!
I did a lot of research before buy this camera and despite some bad reviews I bought it because I did read some good ones. I should have listened to people that said not to buy it! In addition to reading reviews, I contacted Swann to ask them questions about the product and they told me things that weren't true!!! Later when I contacted them again to call them out on it, they blamed it on a different department! You shouldn't respond to customer / potential customers unless you know the facts! They told me that I could download footage and you can't unless you want to save each individual picture. You can't download an event, so what is the point.It was a bad experience all around! The first camera we received was broken and it was a bad experience calling Swann to figure out what was wrong. They didn't listen to what I was saying, they were obviously reading off a script and couldn't think for themselves. When I finally received a working camera from them, the picture quality was terrible, despite trying all the settings. In addition to the poor picture quality, watching the footage back is horrible because it is choppy instead of a flow due to the fact that it is a snapshot, not video. Even watching it live is not great. You also cannot zoom in and forget about seeing anything that is not right in front of the camera. The motion sensor, even on the most sensitive setting, would not pick up things that weren't right in front of it. I also tried to get a clear answer on the different services you could subscribe to but couldn't. They instead there were two packages even through I saw three when I was logged in.It was a terrible experience dealing with Swann. Luckily Amazon was wonderful to deal with and took the horrible thing back. We went back to our Dropcam and that is the one I would recommend! We love our Dropcam. The picture quality is fantastic, you can zoom, and it is accessible on the computer, and apps for your phone or ipad! We wish we could download the footage but you can purchase a plan in which they save it for you.

Decent product not great...
Bought three they work okay, not great, but they do work. A fast and easy wireless solution, easy to set up and use. I'd rate a 7 of 10...

Good value but definition not the best as not HD quality.
Good value for money but understandably not the best picture quality hence the 4 star review.Easy to set up compared to some other makes which (in my opinion) require too many changes to your router settings, the mains adaptor has a good long lead to connect it to the device and an ethernet cable is included.Can topple over easily, so blutak or simialr may be needed on the base.Adequate for general area monitoring or larger pets, but not for detail. I purchased it to monitor my budgie but I sometimes struggle to establish where he is in the room due to the limited resolution. An HD camera would resolve this but at a price, so a good balance all things considered.

Excellent value
Got 3 cameras record straight to I cloud easy to set up excellent support from swan no hard drive required however costs £10 a month to send to I cloud and get notifications of any motion detected that is price for all 3 cameras I would highly recommend

Swann Video Wifi Camera
Easy set-up over iPhone or android, but not possible via any desktop browser. Low picture quality, limited browser viewing (no Safari) and camera configuration. Software and routing done by Seedonk, which hardly works. No email support answers from Swann nor Seedonk. For cloud services you have to pay monthly. Overall, the idea is excellent, the sold product needs a lot of improvement. The seller was trying to be helpful, but had no product knowledge.
