Great at WiFi; But Apparely NOT A Transmitter/ WiFi Pinger, NO Hosted Networking Ability
This product is quite an excellent WiFi Dongle — it manages to make the signal stay strong and mainly unwavering, even in a part of the house where the WiFi isn’t generally at its best. I cannot fault it as a reciever. It’s quite excellent. What lets it down in *this* regard is the “manual” — it’s more of a very short and tiny leaflet, in incredibly tiny writing, that just barely tells you how to set up the WiFi as a dongle reciever. It could be a *lot* better made. I was a professional IT tech, and I managed without reading it, which was lucky., because it was giving me a headache to try and read it. I imagine most might have a hard time reading it, to be honest. And the RealTek software it uses, could easily look daunting to a non-tech person.*However* — The main issue I had with this item (and hence dropped off a star there), in attemptming to turn it into a transmitter/WiFi booster through the Ethernet of the PC, I found out it simply DOESN’T WORK... Plain and simple. Even though the write up claims it does.I tried for ages to get the AP (Access Point) to work via the ReallTek software it uses, and this software even has its own special Virtual WiFi tab, where you can Start “Virtual WiFi Soft AP” mode, but under it, it clearly states: “Status: Not Supported” on it (see pic). Then there was also the seperate section of Access Point Mode, or AP — which is where it pings out and transmits the wifi to other things. So, I tried that. Even with a the current and correct data (automatically gathered, and definitely correct), I was still getting nowhere, with it running a never ending search cycle for the Internet Sharing Connection (ICS), which goes absolutely nowhere. So, in the end, I went to the Command Prompt and asked it straight it the WiFi Adapter had “Hosted Network Capabilities” (to support WiFi transmition) and it simply said “No”. (See Pciture). So basically, the initial Status of the “Soft AP” was correct after all — and I paid a lot of money for something that was a wifi dongle without being able to ping out the wifi... And now I feel rather let down by it, and not quite able to understand why it doesn’t have it. I’m just glad I got it on a lightening deal instead of paying full price.

A little overpriced
I bought this dongle for my office look up, I had just recently bought a new desktop pc and needed a very fast adapter, so looked up to this product.I haven’t at all had many issues with this product although it is quite expensive for my likings and also if you check on amazon you can surely find cheaper ones. But it does what it states and that too accurately, my computer reaches internet speeds of over 100 download time despite being a distance away from the router. Also bear in mind the speed given is the maximum it can give you but this also depends on how far the dongle and the router are apart. The antenna is a decent size to give decent speeds as wanted. It can also be adjusted to your liking and turned and twisted. The speed test shows the speed as around 140, which is far decent for me as my router only covers around 150 to 200 mbps.I hope my review was helpful to your choices.

very effective
very effective and useful product. has great connection speeds, feels very reliable and so far I have been getting a significantly stronger signal prior to having this. The product is quite big so I do advise getting this for desktops rather than laptops. Feels very high quality and I would recommend if you're looking for something long term.

Works ok, unfortunately wide case takes up two USB port spaces
Plug and play with win 10. Signal strength no better than my previous stubby wireless interface, but not dropped out yet, so an improvement there. Shame it takes up too much space and makes the adjacent ports unusable for USB cabled devices - if you use the last port in a row then it only blocks access to one other...

Have a pretty old pc that I now want to link to my WiFi. Pc is up stairs and a good 35 ft from the router which is downstairs. The signal has to go through the floor and 2 walls so I didn’t set my hopes too high. I did take the opportunity to upgrade the pc to Win 10 first. I Ran the cd that came in the box, popped the antenna in and it worked first time. Had it for a few weeks now. The signal strength has been both consistent and surprisingly strong. Pc is only for occasional use so this product has given it a new lease of life.

Very good
Got this for my desktop which was connected to the router through a powerline adapter and was getting speeds of about 2.5Mb\s.I disconnected from powerline and plugged in the WiFi adapter which was recognised by win10, put in the password for 2.4GHz and got downloads of 40+ Mb\s and downloads of 104Mb\s on 5Ghz.The desktop PC is under a desk with 3 monitors on top and two rooms away from router with solid concrete walls.I am very please and going to see what I can get with an usb extension lead to get the adapter out in the open.

Don’t bother!
I couldn’t make this work, I tried to connect to the internet since I had to wait two weeks for a proper connection after I returned to the UK. But I had to manage without internet for two weeks! Amazingly backward in this day and age..,

Temperamental to install
Maybe it was me, and I could not read the miniscule text, but I had to try several alternative loading procedures. It eventually loaded using the 'Administarter' route,.Too early to tell how robust it is.It gives me adequate signal reception where I need it.
