This product does exactly what it says on the box! I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max and It’ works perfectly with it, without any problems! The magnet secures it perfectly to the back of my phone… And it works with my Files app without any problems.. It transfers large files quick enough for me! It can get a little warm when transferring large gigabyte files.. but not so warm that it makes me worry…. I always update my reviews after six months so that I can let you know about a products durability! I have almost filled this device to capacity with important files… so believe me…. if this device fails before six months time… You will be hearing from me right away!!!! lol I am considering purchasing one with a larger storage capacity… so let’s see how this holds up!!!! But for now, I am happy with this product!

I've used only a couple of times in the 2 weeks since I purchased it but the claimed perf is real. The included cable is indeed a usb3.2 Gen2, 20gbps data cable - you can only verify this with a USB port that supports this, and I found using other cables degrades performance. Value is subjective to pricing of alternatives. As this review is being written in the midst of AI ram and storage apocalypse, I paid $60 for this which represents good value for a drive and 20gbps enclosure combo

This came and does appear to be an aluminum square with no obvious way to open it to get a look at the actual SSD, with only a Type C port on it. So, it should be very durable as a result and likely as waterproof as a product like this can be. It is the 512 GB advertised and does not appear to have any speed bottlenecks beyond those of USB, as I was able to saturate the connection while testing. It produces no noise, as expected of an SSD since there are no moving parts. I have not tried it with a Type C to Type A cable since one was not included, and depending on your Type A port that may introduce a bottleneck, but won't necessarily if you have a USB 10 Gbps port (I have seen on some Dell desktops). So it only connects via USB but for the size and intended use case of a phone or camera, should not be an issue. It works with my phone and with my PCs and with my Steam Deck. I will likely primarily use it with my Steam Deck since it will double my capacity and I haven't noticed any degraded performance over using the internal SSD of the Steam Deck, though that may vary from game to game. At any rate, it will likely outperform the SD card slot!
