In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

Finally, wide wrestling shoes for MMA and Cross Training
I ordered these a few months ago after discovering that I couldn't train barefoot like I did when I was in my teens and 20s. These shoes give me the ankle support I need to prevent achilles tendonitis when doing plyometric training, martial arts, and also give me the mobility I need for heavy bag work and shadowboxing. I train on a 2 inch thick gym mat because some joint issues, and sometimes when I'm just warming up and the mat is dry I find the outsole catching a little but once the mat's slick with sweat, it's not a problem anymore. I have had no further achilles pain since starting to use these for ALL of my training, including weights/calisthenics. I wear a size 10 to 10.5 usually, and I wear thin no show socks with these and they fit perfectly, despite my incredibly flat feet which get flatter and wider when I stand up. At the end of a long workout when my feet are a little swollen, I'm still perfectly comfortable in these shoes. I do wish there were some other color choices (maybe some red accents?), because I'd love to have another pair to wear to work!

These are perfect for MMA
If you need to have a flat sole for MMA with some grip these are the best. I went through three different brands of wrestling/MMA shoes until I found these. These unlike many are not bulky, they conform to your feet and ankle. I wear a size 10.5 in mens, and bought these in 10.5, they fit fine. My feet are actually size 10, but I've always bought a half a size up for comfort.

I Dont Wrestle, I lift
These are great for weight lifting when I'm working on legs. Great for any exercise that require your feet to be planted while lifting heavy things such as squatting and dead lifts. The rubber is sticky, strong and flat. my only potential issue with these is the space in between the heel and ball of your foot. there appears to be no rubber in that location. it hasn't been a problem yet but its concerning.

So glad to find these
My fifteen year old son is a challenge to find shoes for. When it comes to specialty sports shoes it's darn near impossible. In fact I had been told that I would not find a size 15 in a wide anywhere - "they just aren't made" So glad that ASICS came through and Amazson is here to help. He is very pleased with them, says they are very comfortable.

A good wide shoe
My son is a large kid with wide feet. For some reason, there are hardly any wide wrestling shoes available. These are the most reasonably priced ones I found. The size runs true. He wears a 10 1/2, and we got a 10 1/2, and the fit him great. They are a bit stiff at first, but soften up with use. He says they are very comfortable.

Just not wide enough......
This was the ONLY pair of WIDE wrestling shoes in the WORLD that I could find - I scoured the internet and checked every store in town - the shoe itself is nice but still the width is not wide enough - my son is using them but after one week of wearing them I can tell he will have them busted out on the sides before the season is over. The length of the shoe is just right and visually they are nice shoes - width is the biggest issue and was very expensive

Great Product
I love these shoes. They have a wide and low sole profile that gives me great lateral stability. The rubber is very sticky and does a fine job at transferring torque. They are very light weight, yet provide excellent support. I have been using them almost daily for a couple of months now. The build quality is good, so I expect them to last.

Comfortable Shoe
My son has very wide feet. While these shoes fit his feet pretty snugly, it would be torture for him to have to stuff his feet into regular-sized wrestling shoes. My son states that the shoes are comfortable and that he likes the split sole. The shoes also appear to be durable. He gives these shoes a thumbs-up.
